They can't even roll out a character that hasn't been seen in a while. At this point, I'd be happy with that...

Well to be totally honest until they can be bothered to dress the rest of the park, or even the entire resort for both Halloween and or Christmas I doubt we'll see meaningful change to these parties

You people can and will complain about everything. All I know is I went to the party for the first time last year and loved it. Even with a weather delay for about an hour I think it was worth every penny. In fact I will be returning this October and attending two parties. I am just hoping that Lotso will return this year as we missed him last year and my daughter was devastated. I will say this, boo to you parade is the best parade I have seen. Villians stage show is a gazillion times better than any castle stage show I have seen and hallowishes is one of the best fireworks displays. Uni & eve six flags have hallween things which I love to enjoy. The problem is my kids don't enjoy them because they scare the crap out of them. MNSSHP is something our whole family enjoys and will return to it anytime we have the chance. Maybe when my kids are older I might feel differently but I doubt it.

Since you just started attending the party for the first time last year, I understand your point of view...but had you started attending 5 years ago when it was $15 less per person and prior to some of the entertainment and decor being trimmed...you would feel differently. Passholder rates for this event used to be $40.00 a person when I started going. I think that rate is now $56 and it's only on the first few party nights.

And I will never forgive them for slashing 2 minutes out of my favorite pyro show for cost-cutting reasons.

That's all.

To add to that, or been to any of the other resorts the difference is quite striking, one would think that when a company knows their product is stale - the entertainment especially at both the christmas and halloween parties would be change. But hey what do I know I'm only a graphics programmer.

Lotso will be out this year- I believe he signed a ten year contract...glad she will get to meet him, but some people are bummed that certain characters made one party appearance and were yanked...

Paris and Hong Kong do it best
The Pumpkin Men, haunted hotel, Alien Invasion, Ghost Galaxy...
I mean...seriously...that's the kind of stuff worth paying extra for.

I'm gonna push the wife to go to Disneyland next year for Halloween. We would have been out there in August for the D23 Expo, but I would really like to see Ghost Galaxy and the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay.

HK doesn't charge right? And this year Paris is only charging on the 31st

another grind for TDO...

And I would just like to say that I would absolutely freak if they did "haunted river expeditions" on the riverboat with that Grim Reaper floating in the Rivers of America...that thing is ridiculous! Add that fog and some slight motion and it would be absolutely insane to see!

That's probably when we're going to go (to see Nightmare Before Christmas, and either Ghost Galaxy or Christmas "it's a small world" depending on when we go - currently sometime between September-Christmas, most likely September) but in 2017/2018!

Last year was my first MNSSHP, and we LOVED it. Very fun, great parade, great fireworks and we left with a boatload of candy. We loved the HM that night with the cast members going in all our character mode. Overall great experience. I do enjoy seeing the normal characters uniquely dressed for the party, BUT i will say instead of only getting the villains out front of the castle in a frenzy, that was bad. Besides that, they should also have villain locations spread out in park. Star Wars weekends do that with unique characters in set locations. Thats how it should be. We got a picture with Malifecent which was great, but then the lines for everyone after her were pretty big.

I will also say, although it was a great experience, I find it weird that all the other Disneyland Locations in the world do these cool additions to rides but WDW doesn't. That i do not get. With how expensive the parties are anymore, they do need a little more to offer.

That being said, we are going again this year in 3 weeks! And we are going to the party and we will have fun regardless

I'm thinking last week of September or first week of October. Normally I don't travel during October for fear of missing Red Sox playoff games, but that doesn't seem to be a major concern for next year.

Unfortunately, being in the UK, we don't really get any baseball on TV over here (we are aiming to get to a game eventually when we're in the US - could have gone last year if we had heard of the Lakeland Flying Tigers - maybe in 2017/2018 when we go - are there any teams near Anaheim (either MLB or MiLB)?) We liked September in Florida last year (nice and quiet, good weather, MNSSHP), and, as 2017/2018 is looking to be a split trip, we'll probably be back in Florida in September, so Anaheim September/October.
