I just wanted to say that if anyone was on the fence about getting PhotoPass+, I whole heartedly 100% recommend getting it! I am currently going through my pictures! They must have taken over 150 of us! And all the meal and ride pics! Its just amazing!!

I'm adding the pics to my trip report right now and love being able to relive the entire trip!!

Photopass Plus you get some dining pictures and ride pictures on your cd. Disneygirl I hope will tell us more. I just am going by what I have read. I ordered it for our trip in January.

We have done both. the photopass and the photopass plus. It really is worth the money if you can afford it. It saves money in the long run if you plan on ever purchasing those special moments on certain rides or dining. =)

Is this something I have to prepay for? I am just afraid of wasting the money if my kids become scared of the characters and don't want to take photos with them ( they are 4 and 2)

You can buy it once you arrive at WDW. However, you'll need it once you start going to the parks/dining because they told us you need to get the ride pics added within 24 hours.

Yep..agreed! Was just telling a friend who is going in April to get it! We didnt do as many actual pictures as a lot of people but the ride pictures and meal pictures alone made it worth it!

Carey ~ what's the difference between the two passes? I have read some things, but I haven't actually talked to anyone who has done both & could explain it first hand. Thanks!

Hi there! You can still get PhotoPass and PhotoPass+ via preorder but you MUST do PP+ ahead of time. They send you a special case which has a voucher in it. That voucher is turned in at the photo shop at a park and you get a red PP+ card that is on a lanyard and they stamp it so it is good for 2 weeks.

Rather then giving the PhotoPass photographers the little blue / cream card, you give them your PP+ card. If you forget your red card though, don't worry, they can add the pics from the regular PP+ card to the red card.

When you go on a ride, you take your PP+ card to the pic up window with the number of your photo and they will add it onto your PP+ card. At a restaurant, you will still get your sets of printed photos but you will also get them digitally added to your PP+ card as well.

On a personal note - and I have no factual basis for this except that I heard 2 cast members say this to me - I feel that the photographers do more if they see you have PP+. I had 2 cast members say to me "lets take some fun shots - you have PP+" and "I'm going to take a lot, you have PP+". Again, it could just be the timing of when I was there or the photographer who was shooting but either way, I felt like we got loads of great shots and special attention.

At the end of the trip, when you add all the borders and are ready to redeem your photos, you put the disk in your cart and redeem the coupon code that is inside that case you received. You can have them sent to your two ways - via disk or down loaded. I opted for the disk. I'm old school like that :) The shipping time is 7 to 10 days but you can upgrade to 3 to 5 days for $6.95. I choose that b/c I was so impatient. With the weekend and the Columbus Day holiday, it did take 5 days from the time it shipped. And it shipped 2 days after I ordered it.

I hope this helps! :)

You can buy it in the park but you loose a day or so doing it this way with the ride and meal photos. I would preorder if you were interested in using it. You can preorder both the photopass and the photopass+.

Exactly! If you figure you will buy a few pics from the rides and maybe a meal and with the cost of the individual pics offered on the photopass website, its totally worth the cost! We always got the regular photoass cd and bought the pictures from rides and meals so this was actually a savings for us! :)

we used the plus in Aug, with my grandsons and all the character meals and the ride photos, it was well worth the money. we split up a few times and just got the ride photo number and added later. one grandson and i were allowed to ride dino twice in a row and CM at counter looked up first photo for us to also add that photo. plan to do again on next trip.

Photopass itself is the service that WDW/DLR use to take your pictures in park. The PhotoCD is one of the products they offer using the pictures they took in park. The PhotoCD includes a copy of all the pictures and edits of the pictures in your account. Photopass+ is a fancy Photopass card that entitles you to the ride/dining pictures for "free" instead of having to buy them individually. The purchase of Photopass+ includes a voucher for the PhotoCD. Pre-purchase is $119 for the PhotoCD alone, or $169 for the Photopass+. Photopass+ must be pre-ordered at least 14 days prior to your trip as they may you a voucher to redeem in park. They are both available for purchase in park, but cost more.

Is this something I have to prepay for? I am just afraid of wasting the money if my kids become scared of the characters and don't want to take photos with them ( they are 4 and 2)

You only need to prepay if you want the savings. If you prebuy the PhotoCD only, you can get a refund on that purchase within 90 days if you are unhappy with the pictures before redeeming the credit. The Photopass+ is not eligible for a refund. But if you have little kids, you aren't likely to do the thrill rides with the pictures. So it may not benefit you anyways.

We used Photopass+ last August and really liked it. It not only paid for itself but allowed us to get ride pictures that weren't perfect without guilt(it's already paid for, might as well get it)
