Well I think thats really up to your preference. I never went to the photo shops, so I'm not sure if you can edit your photos in WDW. But when you get home, you can go on disneyphotopass.com and look at your photos and add borders/graphics to them.

I think I read on another post that you can prebuy the Photo Cd for 99.95 (correct me if I am wrong) You can purchase online for 125.00 after your trip, that's what we did.

It used to be $99.95, the price recently increased to $125. I do remember reading about a promotion someone was offered in the park, though.
I guess it doesn't hurt to stop in at one of the photo shops to ask. If they're not offering the CD cheaper than the regular price, I'd wait to purchase it at home. But that's just me. I'd also worry about losing it before getting home.

We got a photopass on our last trip in April - it cost is $125 but we got 3 x free prints - we could've ordered it back home over tinternet (plus any extras we wanted to add....i.e borders, signatures etc) but we decided to get it whilst we were there so we got the freebies !!

When we purchased our photos and CD on-line it was very easy. The photo place actually suggested to us that it would be easier to buy them on-line when we got home.

One bonus we did receive was on the photos we purchased. Because we had a discount from the MNSSHP we were able to apply that discount to all the photos on-linel. I don't think they would have done that at the photo shop and that is one of the reasons they suggested we purchase on-line.

If you are going to get the CD make sure you get a lot of photopass pictures otherwise it really is nto worth the expense. Remember the Photopass Photographer will often take the exact same picture with your digital camera. So unless you want borders (only available on purchased pictures, not the CD) the CD may not be worth it.

After all that I would suggest waiting until you get home and not wasting your time in the photo offfice when you could be grabbing one last go on TOT or Dumbo.

Tip: Keep a small notebook or piece of paper with you. When you get your photopass write down the number and file it away somewhere safe. That way if you lose your card or destroy it somehow you will still be able to find your pictures.

You'll need to edit your pictures online via the photopass website to add Disney graphics. It's pretty simple and it will not destroy/modify your original picture. We have used photopass the last 3 trips and it works out for us mainly because of the number of photos we got. Each time we averaged over 50 pictures on teh CD with almost 500 of our own shots that we develop ourselves via a home printer. The photopass is nice too for me if I actually want to be in the family pictures. :ROFLOL:

Thank You so much. I usually buy the pictures in the parks more for the graphics. It makes the pictures so much better. So I guess I'll buy the CD when I get home and do it myself it will be fun.:sohappy: :D

Yes, but I think that the tink or simba that she is referring to is something that has to be arranged by the photographer. They usually have you holding your hands out where she would be. I don't know if you can edit that in using the website.

Some of the specialty shots where like Stitch is popping out of a hat the photographer had you hold or baby Simba laying in your outstretched hands is something that the photographers do. I didn't see where I could edit that in or out when I did my Photopass pics earlier this year. That's not to say that won't be changed or upgraded in the future. Just to my knowledge, the extent of editing is cropping, adding borders, etc.

Also, I'm totally racking my brain here! I know I saw a promotion earlier last week, I think on last Wednesday that you can prepurchase your PhotoCD prior to your trip for the old price of $99.99. When you purchase it the Photopass people sent you a specific discount code via email. When you returned from your trip you edited your pics, placed your order, entered the discount code, and the price would be adjusted at check-out. I've been looking all over for where I found that link but can't find it again. I frequent so many sites. Anywhoo, I'll keep hunting and if I find it I will post the link.

Cheers!

Yes that is what I am talking about. We have pics of us holding tink and stich. And also the borders of the name of the park and year. I haven't been to disney since Aug of 2005. And I would love to get these pictures of with my 1 year old, for the best deal.

I just got my CD yesterday. You can add the year, the symbol for the park, tink and signatures from the characters that are in the picture. I added a graphic to each of my photos and also cropped some of them. That way I had the original photo and then a copy with the graphics. I downloaded them to Walgreens and they turned out great. I only wish I had known about photopass before we went, I would have had alot more photos taken. Somehow I had never seen anything on here about it before we left.

I went in with a few other people and we are getting the photopass together, bringing the price down a bit. I'm going down Aug 26-29, flying back home and then back Sept 3-11, so I'm going to put all photos on photopass.

If you pre-pay your PhotoPass (which will cost you $99.95), you'll save 20% instead of paying $125 at the parks!

http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitcdplan.aspx

Thought this would be extremely helpful for anyone who will be attending MVMCP.

The above info was posted by LoriMistress in the Dec. 2007 thread. I went ahead and pre-ordered mine--figured I would have more money for it now than at Christmas time! :D

One advantage to getting the CD at the park is that if you happen to end up with multiple photopass cards, they can combine all cards onto one CD, and you only have to pay one fee.

Anyone know if you can do this online too?

We have "Photo Movie DVD" included in our package. What does that mean? Do we get some kind of card that we give to the photographer when we visit a character? Or is this like, If you BUY the photo CD, we'll give you a movie of it for free, does anyone know?
Thanks!
