I was under the impression that the photopass photographers were only at the entrances to each park....they are other places also?
No, ever since its inception back in 2004 they've nbeen doing icon shots and character shots.
You're thinking of what Kodak used to do. Interestingly enough, Kodak is now out of the theme park photo business, beyond their on-ride fufillment contracts at disney.
Long term (like when the contracts end) you should be able to eventually get all rides on there. (Keep in mind long term means nowhere in the foreseeable future.)
As for Photopass managers.... ive only known two that were worth anything (one of which transfered out quickly) and the other last i heard worked resorts. My main criticisms of them are that the managers didnt have any photography background and hadn't a clue for the most part when it came to photography.
I believe things have changed there somewhat, but back in the beginnings Disney was just wanting merchandice managers to run a photo department. Which makes no sense whatsoever.
My feelings on the whole department is that the quality as a whole just isn't up to par with my expectations. I feel that the Disney name generally means "the best" and the photos that i've recieved from that service dont meet up. Your experience with photographers will vary.
However..... they finally listened to me and threw up a light stand and softbox (very well themed) on the veranda for the Jack Sparrow meet-n-greet photos. The exposure still wasnt right but oh well, theyre trying.
The funniest part is the photopass photographers who try to make it their business to tell entertainment greeters how to do their jobs....
