Not much love for my Yankees around here. Good game tonight even though Mo looked off.

I thought the Phils were gonna get to him in the 8th! Made it interesting...

Good win tonight for the Yanks. Hoping the Phils can pull it together for a win tomorrow night! I'll be there! It'll be the best Halloween since....well last year's Halloween with the parade down Broad Street!

Maybe the Yankees should spend more money so they can get better players.
:drevil:

And why not ?

There is no cap in baseball - so they are playing by the rules.

They can afford it because they have a fan base that will pay the money to support the team.

I never understood this argument. If you have the means, and it's not against the rules, are you supposed to hamstring yourself on purpose just to be nice to your competition?

There are a few of us around here. I am suprised as well at the amount of people who despise the Yankees.

Yankees, Giants, Rangers, Nets.

Thats what I grew up with, and thats what I remain a fan of.

Ugh...poor showing by the Phils and the fans last night.

Our crowd was WEAK last night. I attended the clinching game 5 of the NLCS and never saw a crowd like that before....until the first 3 innings of last night's game. Strangers conversing and hugging, I lost my voice after the 2nd inning, standing for every pitch, just insane...until the 3rd. Then the crowd went flat. I know it was raining, cold and miserable and it was after 11 by the 4th inning ...but come on! It's the WORLD SERIES! The place was probably half empty by the 6th and the Yankee fans chant's were louder than ours.

I had confidence in Hamels until last night. I can't see him getting the call for a Game 7. Here's to a fresh start tonight with big country boy Joe Blanton! Hopefully the Phils can continue their success against big CC!

Great game tonight on both sides. Way to rally and fight back after it was tied up.

I am torn between them closing it out tomorrow, or having the chance to win at home

(I'll go for closing it out tomorrow :) )

That's the right choice. You don't want to be in a Game 6 after being up 3-1. At that point, you're one bad night away from having your back to the wall.

Great series phils fans. Your team will be a team to be reckoned with for years to come.

Also I am a huge Eagles fan so maybe they will bring home the trophy to philly this year!:sohappy:

Sigh....

Great teams, great fans, great series....that series was so good for baseball. I think it got a lot of attention and hopefully put a good spotlight on how great baseball can be to watch.

I'm proud to be a Phils fan today. Something about this team....they've made baseball relevant in this football city again. Pitchers and catchers report Feb 14. I'll be waiting.

+1
Here's to a rebuilt bullpen and title hungry offense and starting rotation in '10.
For the last time for me in '09.

So well put.
It was nail-biting, edge-of-the-seat baseball. Real baseball.
I'm proud, too.
