Not sure where but I heard that one of the overseas versions of Peter Pan's Flight is going to get a huge refurb update. The news mentioned that this update might be transferring to WDW. Is this going to happen? What would happen?

Not sure but maybe Captain Hook could tell Smee to blast a particular guest with this new technology supposedly coming.

Personally I'd rather see the loading speed at which the ships travel match that of omnimover attractions if possible instead of adding a second row, which might obstruct your view of the show, to increase capacity.

And I would hope our version would get the 175 miles of fiber optic effects DL's version has now.

1) That was exactly what I had in mind when I read the RCID thread.:D

2) Alternating carts could do that...

3) I love fiber optics.:D:lol:

I think the attraction itself it fine. It needs some spit and polish and maybe a bit of plusing here and there but I do not see a need for a major change except for guest capacity. The big issue is how to do that. A second row would help but it would kill the sight lines for the guests in the back seat. There are also a myriad of engineering issues that could throw a monkey wrench into that idea as well.

Funnily enough, that was taken from the DLP version ;)

As an aside, and something we have talked about before, but DLP gets around the capacity issue by having an articulated ship with the second row detached from the first but still hanging from the same trolley. That way everyone see round the corners.

Would the existing track at MK be able to support the additional weight as is?

I`d doubt it. So far as I know it is still 1971 vintage. I got a good look in good light at the DLP version and it is a very impressive - and large - carriage and bogey system. Watching it turn corners is amazing! It also negates the need for the speedramps and their inherent issues at load and unload since the system stops to load and then dispatches, much like Pooh or Snow White.

BTW, Yoda - I like our trip countdowns side by side ;)

Personally this ride needs a refurb....and for a second row it would hinder the view of guests so i do not think that is needed.
I go to the world twice a year and i always skip this ride cause it is dull to me. It seems to me that it has been overlooked and i also really dont think the fastpass helps at all. Now for this new technology that certainly would make this ride all and all the other FL rides much more interesting to everyone
