Peter Pan's Flight Update?

I really see no way they could conceivably route a parade through FL.

I've thought it through in my mind but it would take about 30 pages to explain it and I doubt anyone would care to read it but if they can squeeze a parade through Liberty Square they can do the same through FL, (with some reconfiguring of course).

After riding WDW's, then Disneyland's, then back on WDW's again I found that WDW's is extremely horrible compared to Disneyland's. Any update, I think would be worth it.

That can be said about many WDW attractions, as I usually visit Disneyland shortly after a WDW visit and I see just how differently they maintain things out in Florida.

Disneyland's Peter Pan's Flight attraction will be closed for a rehab for four weeks from early May to early June. Yes, part of the reason why Disneyland attractions look and work so much better is that they get routine maintenance and refurbishments!

Maybe the OP was hearing about the May, 2009 refurbishment of Disneyland's Peter Pan's Flight and the new fleet of flying boats Disneyland is getting, and that's where they got the info from?

Tokyo Disneyland doesn't have a Peter Pan's Flight rehab scheduled through at least October, 2009. Unless there is something happening in Paris?

But I think this info stems from the May, 2009 rehab of Disneyland's Peter Pan's Flight out in Anaheim.

I would assume the Liberty Square to fantasyland tunnel would make this difficult.

I assume by "tunnel" he means the spot where Harbor House crosses over the walkway near the old Skyway station.

Ah, thanks, makes perfect sense now. I thought it was a reference to the utilidors.

In my way of thinking, it would be better to stage parades from the backstage area of FL possibly behind IASW. They could then run through a new north-south street that intersects the current FL street where the Pooh tree is. The parades could then proceed towards the tea cups and over the TL-FL bridge around the castle circle, down main street around the square and then backstage. If the parade is running twice in a day it could just be reversed. If not, the option would exist to reset it after hours. Of course this would require reconfiguring the route path (mostly widening) and would work best with a greatly expanded FL which may or may not be in the works. I've never liked or understood why they run parades through Frontierland and Liberty Square :brick:

One of the benefits of rerouting the parades is that it would allow WDI to more fully develop Frontierland and Liberty Square into more immersive environments by seperating them better and even adding new attractions.

Interesting idea, but would require far too much change for them to consider it.
There's really no good spot near IASW to put an entrance, so moving it over near Pooh would be necessary. However, that would require using up some of the available expansion pad that would be better used for an attraction.
Building the access back there, moving the parade storage building, reconfiguring the area between Teacups and Pooh, etc.....too much trouble.

I have a feeling the Pooh tree won't be there much longer if the LM attraction really is on the way. And they seriously considered routing the parade over the TL-FL bridge when the LS bridge needed repair so I know it's possible. I have looked at google photos of the MK and a reconfiguration and expansion of FL is very possible especially with a new show building on the way. But you are right, they sure are slow to go with any real change at the MK unless it involves removing stuff. But maybe that is finally changing.

Don't be so sure. I'm told the Pooh tree would stay.
It's annoying, but it serves a purpose.

Interesting. Any chance the front of the LM building will face north (or east or west) and we will get a new street as part of the LM addition?

Not north.
I have heard of the entrance being located both near the current Ariel's Grotto, or near the Toontown entrance.
Not sure which design will be the final one.

In my "Fantasyland" they would double the size of FL by adding a DL style toontown, a Little Mermaid area similar to Tokyo. And a show building that not only contained the LM ride but a reimagined version of PPF. They could then scrap the old toontown and use that pad for Fire Mountain or something similar that transitions over to TL.

Oh well. But we did get a new meet n greet I hear.:brick:

On this Sunday's Magical Definition Podcast Jim Hill (we really should have a grain of salt emoticon) mentioned the Fantasyland makeover that would include changes to every attraction except it's a small world. He also mentioned a change to the Peter Pan ride vehicles to increase capacity, but he did not mention the RFID chips.

They're so awesome 'cause they glow and change colours and everything!

Ditching Fastpass and bringing back Hook's Tavern would be cool too.

WOOT FINALLY SOMEONE THAT AGREES WITH ME! I hate that peterpan has fastpass. The ride keeps moving and if you ask me, it doesn't need it! Along with buzz lightyear! They can't change PeterPan though, it's a classic!
