I really don't see why this ride is so popular, same with Soarin, what is with the popularity of flying rides? PPF is just like any dark ride but is suspended. Don't really see the draw, again Soarin is just a suspended seat with scenes jumping from one to another to a nice soundtrack. Hook a seat to the roof in front of a screen with fan below and you have the same thing.

PPF is a very dated and ugly ride and needs a complete overhaul, new animatronics, completely new scenes and soundtrack, infact it needs completely gutting and starting again in my opinion.

I would hope new facades would be built for Peter, Small World and Philharmagic but this won't happen as the castle forecourt is based around the medieval period such as the carousel, sword on the stone, Sir Mickey's and the tents fit with the time period of Tangled so they won't be changed.

If you're a regular to WDW, then the refurb is demanded and expected and no big deal if you can't go on the ride. I'm not suggesting it shouldn't be refurbished -- it should. But in my case, I haven't been back in more than 20 years. So, it would be a nostalgia thing for me. I have a window on 9/29. I'll take it -- warts and all.

They should increase the capacity on the galleons so that 4 to 6 people can fit inside. Don't they have improved capacity in Paris? The ride is fine the way it is. It's a classic! I wouldn't mind seeing some improved effects or some genuine Audio Animatronics, other than that the ride is fine the way it is. The façade doesn't bother me. I actually like that we still have the medival fair design. It fits with the theme of a castle forecourt. All I would like to see in this refurb is a good cleaning and improved queue of some sort.

Here come the video screens! YAY! :p jk.
I really hope they give it some love and restore it to all it's glory. I love this ride. I agree with everyone on the queue, it needs some attention and from the rumors I've been reading I hope to see them add the interactive queue and make it blend in more with New Fantasyland, same for small world.

Dont mistake slow loading for popularity. PPF is just one of those horrible capacity rides which makes the line much longer than it should be.
Peter Pan's flight can accommodate around 1200 guests per hour. It's better than Winnie the Pooh or the former Snow White's Scary Adventures. It's still not great capacity but it's not horrid capacity either.

I am more curious to know about the problems the ride is having. Sounds like there may be some safety issues. PPF runs on generators? They have no primary electrical service into that building? Aside from the roof issue, what else is there? Inquiring minds want to know:cool:

The attractions will be getting a general 'spruce up'... And there will be changes to load/unload... Most of the time is for expanding and modifying the existing queue..

There is already talk of extending the refurb another 2-3 weeks from whats on the books now..

This 2 week bump in the timeline is exactly what I was talking about... Everything that was planned for the refurb has been green-lit.. Hence the push-back and the extension... It will allow for permitting adjustments and trade scheduling changes.

So are they doing the Next Gen Queue during this time???
