Perfect example of why Disney portrait series was a BAD idea

Ok, I've never liked this Disney Dream Portrait series from the start, because I've always hated the idea that the hollywood schmuck was getting all over disney... and here's a perfect example- little miss scarlotte johanssen who portrays Cinderella in one of the original pictures, macks natalie portman on the red carpet the other night... and for what? publicity? to make people talk? i'm sorry, but there's such thing as character integrity, and it doesn't just apply to the "friends" of the characters. Disney should have known that they can't expect these celebs to respect that integrity, or even understand it. Bleh.

Off my soapbox now, but hoping at least someone else agrees

Sorry, I don't see two women kissing on the red carpet as an issue that Disney should or would care one way or the other about.

Why should they care?I mean Tim Allen is Buzz Lightyear but did you ever see his stand up?Same with Robin Williams. So for Disney to be upset I just can't see it as the whole reason the pics of the characters was done was to draw up publicity which honestly they did.I got to be honest with you those "pics" also had David Beckham and he was rumored to have had a affair so does that make him poster child to be I believe the Prince from Sleeping Beauty??Lets face it if Disney knows they cant always control what actors do in their private life(Vanessa Hudgins)but for something as innocent as a kiss they shouldnt be overly concerned.

BTW is somebody jealous of ScarJo's kissing Natalie??:ROFLOL:j/k.....or maybe I wish it were me :lookaroun

If you Google "Scarlett johansson kissing natalie portman" you will find plenty. On the passionate kissing scale I would give it a 2 out of 10. It looks completely contrived in order for the 2 of them to get a little press.

While I understand what you're saying, I really can't agree on this one...

IN truth, I think the SJ Cinderella is probably the most beautiful of the photo's in the series. I don't think it's a matter of SJ being a spokesperson for Disney, it is a picture of Cinderella.

While some of the other pictures may be a little quirky, like Woopie as the Genie, the whole Peter Pan picture ( a 50+ y/o peter, an older Wendy and Tinker Bell with glasses), I am still very interested in the series.

I didn't even know about this until seeing this post. So thanks for showing me the "filth."

I don't really care about it. This isn't a Vanesa Hudgens situation and even then, I didn't care.

No one is perfect.

I understand what you mean, but I can't agree.

It was probably for The Other Boleyn Girl, which originally had some girl on girl (sister on sister) action.

People should behave properly in public, but nobody's perfect.

*insert the biggest possible "roll eyes" smiley here*

Of course, were it Zach Efron making kissy-faces with say, Patrick Dempsey, on the red carpet, I'd expect (sadly) that the tone of the follow-up posts would be far more sympathetic to the OP.

Can't we just get past this issue as a society at some point? Please.

American's are purdes, get over ourselves already.
What people do are our own business as long as it is not illegal. You know that if you turn on sesame street you are going to watch an appropriate show for children and you also know that if you turn on a show with a red carpet you are going to watch something with shock value. Why be surprised and relate this with the fall down of the Disney values. And if you truely believe that these actors and stars portraying these Disney icons are wholesome then you believe that Anthony Hopkins is a cannibal.:hammer: They are actors, they get paid for their craft and peoples desire to love them.

Who gets to decide what proper public behavior is?

I mean, I find the kiss more or less innocuous, but I don't like seeing teenagers dry humping in line at Space Mountain. Other people might not have a problem even with that, or same-______ macking, but have issues with blacks dating whites or any other race mixing. I don't know why I find gay racists, or mixed-race couples who are homophobes, so interesting, but I've met 'em and they exist.

On the flip side, some people are uncomfortable with any two adults holding hands in public.

If you're gonna be talking about proper public behavior, you might want to make sure "everyone" is on the same page as you.

whoa whoa let me clarify here. It has nothing to do with homosexuality or anything of the sort (I assume that's what you're implying?) It's the fact that hollywood does these things just to get people to talk, for publicity, to sell movies, and whatever else. I work for Disney, so homosexuality doesn't bother me! ha that's never been what this is about. It the fact that I don't like skeezy celebs (no matter the gender) mixing with something like Disney that is still pure to me

American's are purdes, get over ourselves already.

Again, it's not about being prudes. And I don't believe these actors are wholesome, and I don't expect them to be (which in my opinion is sad, because my little sister looks up to so many of them, but I digress).....and I think that knowing that, Disney should have made a better judgment call.

That's fine if you guys don't agree, but personally I hold character integrity at a very high standard and this really just rubbed me the wrong way.
