I realize you’re still mourning the loss of Buzzy, but don’t take it out on my Tikis.
I enjoy just about every classic Disney attraction out there except for Swiss Family Treehouse, Impressions de France, and the Enchanted Tiki Room. It's boring. Everyone I take to see it thinks it's boring. I've never had a single person on their first trip think it was entertaining.

But I grew up with the Under New Management version. And unpopular opinion, but, I thought that one was more entertaining. Even my 72 year old dad and 45 year old mom thought the original show was weird and wished they didn't change it.

I respect it, though. I understand it's significance. And I am a fan on the historical side of the attraction, but not the entertaining side. It's just kind of blah. For me, at least.

So yes, I'd prefer the stitch version,

Get me a scotch, quickly!
Impressions de France,
My heart!

My soul!

Well, there’s no accounting for taste, which seems to run in the family. Don’t blame yourself.

As to the overhead light package. They did turn it on at one point and got complaints from guests with sensory triggers and had to turn it off.
The current normal lighting in the TTA tunnels is a series of overhead cans... which cause a strobing effect.... so, too late for that.

There was actually a package installed a few years ago that changed the lights in the cans to different colors as vehicles were moving along the track. It was only on for a few weeks before it was turned off. The LED lights, like most LED's will flicker like crazy on most cameras and some people can be sensitive to that but that cannot be resolved reasonably.

If I recall part of the problem was they all changed simultaneously in very large zones as opposed individually.

Edit; like this:

Yeah, that would've been great if it was slow dissolves and longer wait times before switching colors.
Agreed. A nice, slow, constant color change would be nice. Not that constant flashing.
Is there a possibility that the lights could return synchronized with Tron?

Imagine how epic it would be to have the full land synchronized.

Or something like that, synced with the land music.

I never the opportunity to actually see it but I knew it was a color changing package that was installed but turned off very soon due to complaints.

Lucky for me I have.
TO BE FAIR... We're all 20-ish year old college kids.

Tiki Room is just the main attraction I just personally never connected with. But I definitely don't have a problem with it being there. Nor do I have a problem with the other two attractions I listed.

In fact, I have so much respect for Tiki Room and its importance to Disney's history, that it is not even on a top 50 list of things I would change in the parks... But if it WAS changed, I wouldn't be upset.

Just want to clear up some confusion. The quick flashing between colors shown in Martin’s video and others on YouTube were only used during their installation during the PeopleMover’s 2009 refurb. It was not in use when the ride reopened.

Each zone had static colors instead of white flood lights. There was never any strobing and the colors did not change.

The reason they were changed to be primarily bright white again was due to safety. The dark hue and muted colors made it hard for the ride operators at the station to see the exterior portions of the track clearly.

Tiki Room > Splash Mountain.

Maybe that explains my personality -- or at least provides a footnote.
