Party Season 2021

I think it would be 100 times easier to clear the park of day guests for a nighttime hard ticketed event for fireworks at Epcot versus Magic Kingdom. They could even keep Future World open for normal admission stragglers.
Even with all the pavillions, shops, and restaurants? Sounds like a pain. What if they just make all of showcase Plaza reserved viewing for $20. Nobody else is gonna see the screen, so that should keep crowds down?

Outside of Frozen and Remy in the future, all of the attractions don’t typically have huge lines. Stop seating people for lunch around 3pm. Close the shops at the start of the event in the early evening and require wristbands for entry.

Two teams of Cast Members slowly walking in a line in opposite directions from American Adventure directing people to exit into Future World. Open up a bypass backstage and have a walkway between Imagination and International Gateway for resort guests/park hoppers to Studios.

Right?! That's the craziest part of all of this. I mean, they have experience doing it for parties at MK, but it seems like quite a tall order
Close the park at 5:00, do a park sweep and empty the park out. Let party guest enter the park at 7:00, limit the tickets sold and price the tickets at a premium price.

And charge day tickets at 75% of the normal price.

Yeah right.
Well, they open at 11 now. If they switch to 9-7 for day guests and then event 7-9, at least it’s an even trade. They just have to hope we forget a day ticket used to be worth 9-9 with fireworks...

It’s a slippery slope. I hope they just go with dining packages and tell people who aren’t in a viewing area to keep moving along like they do during parades. If you mark off every space that’s not blocked by trees or buildings, it will sort itself out.

Fantasmic! is easy since it’s controlled-entry.

I’m not sure how you restrict at MK without an “after hours party,” but there is already precedent for this at MK. I want to believe they’d roll these into on-site room packages but I know better. Gone are the days when they think they need perks to convince you to pay $850/night for the “opulent” Grand Floridian.

We will know they truly respect us if all fireworks tickets are free. But, I know they are champing at the bit to bring premium packages back.

I can't imagine how they can tell people at Epcot, sorry you can't watch these fireworks, only the people that paid for them can, although seems like they are sure going to try! 🤣

I hope the fireworks wouldn't be in place of a real party. When we go in October, I'll pay for an after hours (hopefully Halloween Party) with rides, food and whatever. I won't pay just to watch fireworks...

If they really make just fireworks a pay only event, that's really disappointing.

I suppose anything can happen, but it's hard for me to believe that fireworks would become a pay only event. My fear is if they start out that way due to safety concerns, it will stay that way. If Disney makes money on it, they wouldn't go back and say "hey, fireworks are free again"!

If that does happen I hope they offer a upgrade for APs. Or I certainly wouldn’t be against a AP that allows nighttime only admission including fireworks.

To be quite honest, they should just bring back the after hours event. It was $80-90 with free junk food, limited entertainment and rides. Just bring it down to a smaller scale. Limit to WS, Hollywood Blvd, Mainstreet/Hub. Have the parks opened from 7-11 with fireworks at 9 or F! at the beginning.

And what of the guests who’ve already paid for a days admission? It was bad enough pre Covid.

Whatever it is they have planned I’m guessing it will be implemented with reservations or tickets by end of April/May? With a debut date in June, if that’s the plan.

You would pay for an after hours event where you can't go anywhere except Main Street/Hub? No rides? What would everyone do for 4 hours?

They could bring back Summer Nightastic but in party form lol. Honestly that may not be such a bad idea, not bring back HEA and instead a show that doesn’t require everyone to be in the hub. I know this was discussed before. Of course regardless everyone will still want to be in front of the castle... unless their forced not to.
