Are they planning to bring them back depending on vaccine status? Or pretty much regardless of where we are at?
We know the vaccine status. Available to anyone at risk by Memorial Day. That’s why they are preparing to open Disneyland around then, as well (DLR may push into June merely because of the logistical hurdles in staffing parks closed for 14 months).

They will not wait for vaccine hold-outs. No business will. We will keep masks in many situations but not capacity restrictions. And without capacity restrictions...big booms in the night return!

Just a vague mention of tickets being required, whether free or for a cost.

Knowing this company, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some hybrid—a limited number of free tickets so people don’t cry “foul!” and a ton of packages.
So are you saying that fireworks will be only available as a separate ticketed event? And summer, is more June or Sept?

They will certainly need to be ticketed. They must control capacity. But will tickets be free?

Obviously, Epcot has the most space.

June.
Earlier, though, you implied that once vaccines are widely available, capacity restrictions will go away. When do you think we will see "open season" for fireworks attendance as it was pre-pandemic, rather than ticketed to maintain capacity restrictions?

MK being the biggest issue? If EF is still planned for summer I can’t see it requiring tickets.. with the exception of the opening nights. Now of Harmonious was on the plate for summer, then I’d say different ball game.

Thanks, wondering if they go down the fireworks only path or an "after hours party" with a handful of WS rides open.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I really should have said capacity restrictions would be lifted to the point that parks would only close on major holidays (as in the past) while social distancing is still required. They won’t be able to pack 10k people in the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater. But, we are already seeing a shift in the 6-foot stance. If 3 feet is good enough for schools, it’s probably good enough for rides and shows.

Unclear on what an event would look like. I gather they are leaning more toward dining packages, which is why they are working to increase dining capacity. After hours events may be too hard to fill with that frequency whereas people who dine in the evening are more likely to arrive later and be in stores later. It helps spread crowds and open wallets.

MK is indeed the hardest one since Hub capacity is low and they made Hub-centric shows.

I think people would gladly get a dining package to see EF. It will have been 15 months without fireworks.

I’d pay...

I'm curious as to what types of controls they are going to place on public areas outside the parks relating to FW.

Boardwalk comes to mind. There'll almost assuredly be shoulder to shoulder (with some separation of course) crowds at places like Dahlia, - Poly, GF, Contemp beach areas, and in short anywhere people will be able to view. And sure it's not a substitute for the ancillaries that accompany a FW show, but enough people are going to be satisfied with the colorful booms.

That's true. Although I'm assuming they already have capacity limits in place at Dahlia - so that is a means of control.

(which will annoy me greatly if we can't get into Dahlia due to everyone just wanting to watch fireworks. I just want to have a drink :D )

I cannot imagine WDW capacity limits opened up with the current distancing guidelines. Even if they drop the distance to 3ft the ride queues will be all over the walkways.

Yeah, between it being a new show at epcot and the lack of any night time activities for over a year, I fully expect Disney to extract as much money as possible from eager guests. Is it going to be a nightly show or just weekends (or Th-Sun)?

We would never pay extra just to see fireworks.

Which also leads me to this question - say it's for Epcot. Would they have to start closing early to get all the non-ticket holders out so they can have fireworks at 9? Or close at 9 and have fireworks at 10?

So many questions have I....

Some certainly would. Count me out of that group, though, as I'd like the dinner I paid for to stay in my stomach. ;)

It just does absolutely nothing for me. The second viewing I could barely keep focused on the show. Disjointed, terrible transitions, and the ending... 🤮
