Parks Merchandise Available Online Direct From Disney

Yay! I like that we can buy the autograph books and pens before we go. Then we don't have to waste time our first day getting them. I didn't have time to look over everything yet so I'm not sure what all they have.

I LOVE that I can buy things right from my own computer from Disney World! Yay! :sohappy: Wish they would add a ton of things though......what I was looking for wasn't there!

I'm actually not to crazy about this. I always liked that there were certain things you could only get while visiting the parks. I'm not talking about the Plushes or Pens and autograph books, but the Collectibles and Home decor and whatnot.

Park Items loose a little luster

I'm sure we are in a minority, but I don't like it either. There is something special about being able to only buy park merchandise in the parks. Sell generic Disney items online or in retail stores, but save the park specific items for the parks.

You could always order it. Just not on a website.

I know I know...it just still seems liike it's less exclusive now.

I live close by so I'll still make special trips out to WDW to pick up something special, but it still seems like it takes away from the exclusivity of the merchandise that was only available by visiting the parks.

Call me old fashioned I guess. But it would be like being able to buy an "I <3 New York" shirt at my local Tampa area Walmart...

^Understandable, but the point still stands. If the stuff is available through mail order, then the issue of park exclusiveness is off the table. At least customers don't have to order blind now.

I don't like this also. What's so special about seeing ears in the parks when anyone can purchase them online now? I know you could purchase all this through mail order, but I don't think that number was well known outside the circle of uber fans like us.

I agree. If I didn't get it at the park, it takes away the exclusiveness (sp?) of the item. I have merchandise from other experiences I've had and it gives me memory from that time the item was purchased.

^But what if you look for a certain item for several days and you can't find it in any of the parks? Being able to order it online is a nice option.

(Happened to me last trip. Except mail order, not online, obviously. Wouldn't have an I:ROE CD today if not for the ability to get a park item outside of the park. And that would make me really cranky.)
