Parking going up to $14

The Dolphin also charges for nightly parking and I wouln't be surprised if The Swan did too.

Yes, you have to pay to park at both the Dolphin and Swan. And they also charge a "resort fee" per night that includes internet. But even with the parking fee and the resort fee, with the nurses rate for the room, it still comes out cheaper than staying at a comparable Disney resort (where you'd still have to pay $9.99/day for internet).

Based off a 12 hour 9 to 9 day it is about 86 cents an hour.

At a local AHL team we pay 15-20 dollars for about 3 hours. That is between 5 and 6 dollars an hour.

Disney is a bargain.

So by your rationale, 12 hrs at $10/hr would be a bargin? Somehow I can't imagine anyone thinking a $120 Disney parking fee as a bargin.

Some Disney fans are either very very rich or delusional. I'm going with the latter on this one.
Not delousianal,not rich.

I am just saying it could cost more. Seriously, park at Dtd or a monorail resort for EPCOT or MK. Boardwalk or DtD for DHS and EPCOT. DtD for AK. Just do that if it is such a big deal.

ITA.

Can't you just park at Downtown Disney and just take buses to all over WDW?

You can park at DtD, although you have to change to another bus or monorail at a resort, or walk a ways from a resort to the parks, depending which resort you pick. It's not a direct bus. So it takes quite a bit longer. I know a friend who did that, though, just because she was such a cheapskate, lol.

Speaking on DTD...not to jinx anything...but I'm surprised that hasn't gone to a pay-to-park situation yet. Wouldn't that be horrible?

For a few months now, there is a charge before 10pm to park at Universal...which includes the Citywalk shopping/dining district.

I'm not saying WDW parking is not expensive, but for all of the other examples I've seen on here those particular businesses are either in metro areas or they depend more on parking income .. not exactly an apples to apples comparison.

I'm wondering though .. where do the parking fees go as far as the books are concerned? Is it on the parks' books? Could the decision to raise the prices be independent of the hotel and ticket fees? I wonder ..

Please for the love of all that is good and holy, please do not do this. People parking and going to the parks using resort transportation is the reason why there are never any parking spots at Downtown Disney, and I like going to the movies too much.

Here's a little tip from me to you. There are so many ways to get complimentary parking (annual pass, resort stay, etc...) that if $14 is really going to hurt you so much, you may want to consider these options.

and lol @ 14 dollars being too much and suggesting a 500 dollar annual pass, instead.

LOL. Yea, I have a problem with 14 dollars. Instead I'll pay for an AP.... doesn't make sense.

I'm parking at DTD whether you like it or not.
