For some of us, probably not. For the average tourist...I’m guessing they will love it. My buddy from Texas made sure to plan his family trip so he could experience TSL.

Why is the average tourist so stupid? Would they enjoy this land if it wasn't called Toy Story Land? Of course not. Because it's terrible. But it has giant objects relating to a movie they like so now they'll shill over hundreds of dollars to experience it. Oooh so magical!

TSL>Pixar Pier. At least it has 2 new rides and more effort put into the theme. (And, whatever its quality, it's a step up for the current state of that park). Pixar Pier is an Imagineering dumpster fire that's going to make a lot of people cynical about Disney's future announcements of "new" attractions. Fortunately for the company, Star Wars is waiting in the wings to make a good impression with some real quality instead of smoke-and-mirrors carny hawking.

It's a tacky reference that didn't need to be made, and it cheapens the park, as does a lot of this project's elements. Disney could build an adjacent stand called "Dug's Dumps" selling overpriced chocolate poop-shaped desserts, and I'm sure a lot of Disney fans would happily fork over cash for it and declare it "magically delicious."

Disney, once upon a time, used to be classier than this. The parks used to encourage people to use the best parts of their minds and carry inspiration and creative sparks with them back into the real world. Disney's taking the low road lately.

It really is a harmless joke... are we that prude?

It wouldn't have cost Disney a penny more to do something more classy. If you're fine with urine gags at your food stands, help yourself, as I'm sure a lot of people will do. It's certainly not the end of the world, but I do prefer the classier version of Disney that used to keep their parks nicely free of pee-jokes on the food stands. But that's just me. :D

And, I just have to add this. My local "amusement park," the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (one of the parks that served as inspiration for DCA's pier), has been operating a class act for decades. Not only is it the cleanest, safest, best-run seaside park on Earth, but among their dozens upon dozens of brightly-colored, cheerful snack stand offerings, there is not a single urine or poop joke to be seen anywhere. They are out-classing Disney at this point.

As much as I dislike CA, I always wanted to visit there. I usually always just go to the state for Disneyland, and every once in awhile a Sharks game since I used to live in Dublin lol. Last time I was in the bay area was when the Sharks made it to the Stanley Cup finals!

Ironic that a Disney forum is probably the most depressing and cynical forum on the internet.
Disney has been giving fans-who-care a reason to be cynical and critical lately. When they scoop out cheap, tacky crud and call it "magic"... That's something they need to be called out on. They're capable of much greater things. If "fans" keep praising every cheap, greedy decision the company makes... why would Disney bother aiming higher?

SCBB is a wonderful park on a terrific beach. It attracts the widest range of customer types you can imagine, and everyone's having a great time--the care that goes into its operations is apparent, and people seem to appreciate that. Giant Dipper is still one of the most fun and ingeniously designed coasters on Earth. The park also has a spinning coaster, three good dark rides, a log flume that's genuinely log camp themed and a great collection of classic flat rides. All beautifully maintained. And the food's fantastic.

The only trouble is that it's in Santa Cruz, which is a pain to get to (and out of) unless you're in the South Bay Area or Monterey and have a full day to spare. If you're ever in that situation, it's a great day trip! :)

I don't think anyone's shedding tears over belching Heimlich's upcoming demise. And I think the stand is a bit worse just because looks tacky and cheap in *addition* to the lowbrow humor. They're taking the Pier downward, not upward. They're making this the Pixar Version of Superstar Limo-- The Land.
