Why would the quality of construction be in question? Disney standards require high levels of finish.

It isn't in question. My point was that take away the Pixar content that you and others have an issue with and its still a quality refurb.

I've already stated several times now that the Pixar character here doesn't appeal to me. Yes I think they could have done without it. Geez can't a guy look at the positive side of something.

Guy Selga @guyselga: The Lemon Soft Serve from Adorable Snow Man Frosted Treats is a big winner. This is going to be a huge hit. #PixarPier

You can get the chocolate or vanilla soft serve there, a diary free lemon, the lemon with a blue raspberry swirl, or the lemon dipped in white chocolate to make it “snow capped”. Everyone’s raving about the lemon.

This small ice cream shack I know of in Central Illinois has the same kind of lemon soft serve. Disney continues to be a trend follower.

Why is it so yellow? I’ve never seen lemon ice cream THAT yellow.

To give a serious answer, a saturated yellow, presented with the blue zone and the red cherry of the parfait, are (obviously, of course) the Pixar Ball colors. Both the yellow and the blue in the frozen dessert are mercifully less saturated than those LOGO colors, but I think the very yellow ice cream is a reach in that direction.

They should have called it "Mickey's Pixar Wheel" because everyone's still going to call it the Mickey Mouse ferris wheel.

Also I heard from a castmember friend that when people said the budget for Pixar Fest was the same as the 60th of Disneyland, it's actually the budget for PIXAR PIER was the same as the 60th of Disneyland...

Which I still can't see... the 60th had to pay for that amazing fireworks show to perform nightly, build/run Paint the Night, give updates to multiple rides, banners, and more. Pixar Pier has The Incredicoaster with its repainted California Screamin ride vehicles, a giant Jessie that got a 3 for 1 deal, lots of new paint, a spinner from a soon to be defunct land, and like 30 statues for the Incredicoaster. I feel like the 60th Budget was more, LOL.
Significant -and necessary - upgrades to the coaster operating system by the manufacturer totaling about 5 million was part of this. ( and actually the reason for this dumb rebranding ....”how can we say this ride is new after it opens from this expensive and extended downtown?”) Waaaaala!

The tube enclosures, fancy auto shop doing the gondola paint jobs, the crazy “paint half rotate and paint the rest “ process of painting the Sun Wheel (wink), love it or leave it the entrance marquee/shop/Lamplighter are practically new. This stuff adds up fast.

Now - for the record I hate at least 2/3rds of what we are getting and seems to be some of the most contrived drivel ever. The concept of having people Coloring birthday cards with Aurora at WDW might have even been better ( it was at least prettier )
