The sign looks perfectly fine without Luxo, arguably the best improvement on the pier with this project. Don't ruin it by adding a Luxo Lamp at the top.

Yeah, but if they’re going to slap Pixar on this area they might as well go full Pixar and give us a cute oversized lamp animatronic. Have it make little cute squeaky noises too.

Apparently from what I've heard from a CM, the figure has been backstage for quite some time and Disney has been having issues with the Luxo company again regarding rights etc, but I'm taking that piece of info with a grain of salt. If it's true, it does makes sense why he's taking so long to show up.

At this point Pixar/Disney should just buy Luxo and call it a day.

It makes sense but shouldn't the Disney lawyers have thought of that a long time ago?

The Disney lawyers after all are the ones who covered up the Chinese Theater with the Sorcerer Hat in DHS because they lost the rights to use the theater, so... /s

If they lost the rights to use the theatre, it would have been torn down and not just covered up. That legend is not true at all. The real theatre in CA was constructed in 1927, so the architecture is not covered by copyright law since it was built before 1976.

I know. This Luxo rumor seems a lot like that one, doesn't it? ;)
