Yes, it was a Triple AP Blockout today. Tomorrow it's only a single AP blockout and the place will be slammed. Still, Incredicoaster had the longest wait time in the Resort by far, averaging 120 to 180 minutes throughout the afternoon. No other ride was more than 90 minutes long today (Racers).

Right now at DCA park closing time the Incredicoaster is posted at a 90 minute wait. By comparison, Racers is 50 minutes, Mission: BREAKOUT is 45 minutes, Matterhorn is 20 minutes, Big Thunder, Soarin' and Star Tours is 15, Pirates is 10 minutes, Small World is 5 minutes.

Expect AP Pandemonium tomorrow.

Here's a nice side-by-side comparison of the original ride versus the new ride.

I'm glad they fixed the lighting, the coaster looks so much better with the fixed lights

That side by side video shows a few things:

1. The removal of the chain fence at the end makes all the difference in the world.
2. California Screamin' ended first which means it was faster and thus better
3. The lights on Incredicoaster are so warm and hostile compared to California Screamin's cool blues and I don't like it
4. What everyone was saying about this coaster being better at night really is true. California Screamin', that is. It's way better at night than the Incredicoaster. During the day, too.

Are you sure about the lighting?

the screamin coaster had the much warmer lights and much of the coaster had missing base lights. The new lighting package gives the coaster a cooler look because of the enhanced blue lighting throughout and it also makes the darker red lights that line the coaster pop.

Overall the coaster now has a cooler hue and not warm at all.

Apparently even the Disneyland subreddit is ****ting on Pixar Pier. Found these gems a bit ago. Credit to u/DavidTheFreeze and u/PrestoMovie.

what i find funny is that we all have forgotten that even Disneyland park opened unfinished and rush to the point that women's shoes were sticking to the asphalt. this retheming has issues but i even have to admit that it also does have quite a bit of improvement. Paradise Pier was never really fully fleshed out. I also don't like the all out Pixar theme or the fact that they are adding another spinner but i do think the new facades and paint scheme really improved the area

Disney's truly peaked with their immersion. Best in the business.

The red lightbulbs lining the track, red scream tubes, and the even the red lighting when you depart from the station are all very hostile imo.

You have the same standard for 2018 Disney as you do for 1955 Disney?

Yes, they spent millions that they will not see a return on.

Disney dont care if it's ap or not, any money is good money.

You're not getting as much money if they're APs, that's the point.

That's an idiotic comparison. Walt borrowed money from his life insurance to fund Disneyland. Today they are a billion dollar company that can afford to construct things in a timely manner.

Disneyland was the first of its kind. It was built in the mid 20th century. Fast forward 63 years...there’s just no excuse at this point.

I don’t understand the “Paradise Pier wasn’t good to begin with” argument. When something isn’t good, you work to improve it, not worsen it.

Well who would have ever guessed that would happen? :p

Still, I'm willing to bet DCA will see a bump in attendance this year because of the changes.

My bet is more likely sustained. I see all of these things (2016 - Soaring and Grizzly Peak, 2017 - Mission BO, 2018 - Pixar) as plugging holes into a slowly sinking ship as Disneyland's tide continues to rise once again. DCA 2.0 benefits are subsiding and they are well aware.

DCA needs a proper capital infusion again. By all means I'm glad Disneyland is getting something impressive, but it's going to be an absolute cannonball to their broad side next year. The Marvel land sans-attractions is just going to be another holy crap someone plug the hole moment.

The more worrying part is it currently seems like they aren't even going to try to attempt any stop gaps next year? Maybe that's when Soaring over California gets brought back.

Edit: D'oh, correction. I literally forgot that this redo continues into 2019 with the Inside out thing and Carousel. Oh boy.
