This whole thing is blowing my mind. Chappie and WDI are just in a big spitting contest with this. It sounds like NOBODY thinks Pixar Pier is a good idea - they're doing it just to say they did something. What on earth is the point? That bugs me more than the idea of Pixar Pier itself.

You'd think Mission: Cash Grab would already be proof enough that WDI can slap something together extremely fast. Sigh. At least the area will finally get the tlc it deserves although the retheming might negate that.

For sure, but I also thought the announcement of the Mickey and Minnie ride was completely bizarre. They describe it as being 3D without needing 3D glasses, which begs the question, why not just build things? But worst of all was the concept art. It's nothing I would ever want to do based on those crude ugly images. And this is in the wake of that awful concept art for the new POTC auction scene.

Did you even see the preview for how the new projections will work?

It is an objective demonstration of a long desired change in project delivery. One project is not enough to demonstrate change.

I suppose I understand the logic, but it seems irresponsible to try to prove this point by shoehorning in a reskin of an existing area.

What is irresponsible? The project will increase the presence of one of Disney’s key brands.

I can sort of see some thought experiment: Paradise Pier is ostensibly the Fantasyland of DCA. Just like Fantasyland was originally the home of Disney Movie IP applied to simple spinners & dark rides (which got more grand and beautiful as the decades passed), the powers that be are asking why does Paradise Pier have to exist IP-less? And since JL is one of those powers that be (and since Pixar has generated some of Disney's strongest characters recently) they are the candidates for this revision.

California Screamin closed for 6-month refurb after Christmas, so I will not get to ride that during my trip in April. It will be rethemed to Dash from the Incredibles.

Also, a new Incredibles flat ride is coming, Turtle Talk with Crush is moving to the Pixar Pals Theatre, and retheme of the Carousel is coming to.

Ariel's Grotto and Cove Bar will get a Pixar re-theme.

Also said is that Pixar Pier will go from Ariel's Grotto up until the Maliboomer Park, which is what we expected.
