Scratching my head over the decision to include "Inside Out" but not Up, Finding Nemo / Dory, Monster's Inc, and or Ratatouille.

I mean come on.. Finding Nemo / Dory should be a given, ON A PIER.

The only one not currently represented at DLR is Ratatouille. Up, Nemo, and Monsters already have representation elsewhere in the parks. Also the plan was originally to move Turtle Talk with Crush over to the pier, but that was scraped for now.

The don't think the goal of this was to completely move every reference to Pixar to one location over in the pier.

It would've made too much sense right.

I'm throwing a blank - where is Up? Monster's has Mike and Sulley, which is fair, and Turtle Talk for Nemo..

Disney should have never removed the sunglasses dinosaur store. They could have rethemed it to The Good Dinosaur for Pixar Pier.

A Sneak ‘Pixar Pier’ Peek at Lamplight Lounge at Disney California Adventure Park
by Alex Dunlap, Food & Beverage Content Relations Coordinator

There’s a hot new spot coming to Disney California Adventure park! Located at the entrance of Pixar Pier, Lamplight Lounge will be a stylish, fun place to hang out with the whole family. The lounge will be serving up playfully presented California casual gastro-pub cuisine and unique signature cocktails.

Our culinary team has been hard at work cooking up a spectacular menu, and today I’m giving you a sneak peek at some of the delicious items you’ll taste when Pixar Pier opens on June 23.

Starting with “Shorts” to Share – also known as appetizers – the Potato Skins will make for the perfect crunchy snack to start off your meal. Made with crispy Yukon gold potatoes, these skins come with brown butter-caper yogurt, smoked paprika aïoli, and Manchego cheese.

If creative sushi is more your style, then the Carne Asada Roll will be right up your alley, with New York grilled strip steak, roasted Fresno chili salsa, escabeche, and crema.

For the Bigger Bites menu, a vegetarian entrée will take the “lamplight” – the Spinach Salad! This salad consists of curly spinach with warm wild mushrooms, a soft poached egg, charred onion vinaigrette, shiitake “bacon,” and blue cheese toast.

Another featured entrée will be the Chicken Sandwich. This savory, spicy sandwich comes with crispy chicken with spicy chili glaze, vinegar slaw, and pineapple butter and served on an Amish bun alongside malted fries.

On the kids menu, “Budding Artists” will love the PB&J Roll! A fun twist on a traditional peanut butter and jelly sandwich, this creamy peanut butter and whole wheat “roll” comes drizzled with strawberry jelly. It’s also served with fresh fruit and a flower pot of hummus and veggies.

Lamplight Lounge and Pixar Pier are set to officially open June 23 at Disney California Adventure park. This expansive reimagining will transform the shores of Paradise Bay with your favorite Pixar stories. Other exciting food and beverage locations coming to Pixar Pier include Poultry Palace, Señor Buzz Churros, Angry Dogs, and the recently-opened Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more details!

That food alone easily outshines any of the new pier designs....wow. I mean, why eat that when you can get an "angry" hot dog? Or some generic chicken from a kids happy meal shaped stand?

Another missed opportunity. How difficult would it have been to move Turtle talk to this area? The animation building would loose a popular piece but they already butchered the Sorcerors workshop to add a changing room for Frozen.

Seems like that large show building in the hollywood section could eventually be replaced with a darkride. Why not just add Mickey adn minnie railroad there.

The food actually sounds good, hoping they add more unique items like this to this place and other eateries in both parks. Now if only they would put to good use the huge and almost always empty Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta location. That place is large enough to include more unique items besides Pizza. Everytime i walk in there the place is empty.

By the way did anyone notice that this concept art has more older people sitting at the bar?

That makes me wish that they would offer Senior discounts or annual passes. I would love to take my older parents to the parks but they refuse to let me because they don't want me to pay the full price when both can't really do too many of the attractions. Dad is 91 and mom is 88. they have always enjoyed Disneyland and It would be fun to take them to the parks for their 70th anniversary in a few months

I have a feeling Crush will be evicted when Marvel takes over. If Mickey and Minnie don't go to TT, it's probably going into Mike and Sulley.

This whole thing is such a pathetic mess. No point in trying to make any sense out of any of it. It's low-budget rubbish that cheapens the Pixar name, does nothing for DCA and gives the impression it was designed by people who've never seen any of the films.

But, boy howdy, does it give the promotional department a chance to flex their BS skills!

I still really don't see how it cheapens the name. I know this is your opinion, as you stated it numerous times in this thread, and I don't discount it. But the average guests is not going to be that sensitive to the brand "rep" like you think they are. This is not going to all of a sudden make people think any less of the Pixar or Disney brand, other than some purists. For it to cheapen the name the populous at large has to think this causes the Pixar brand to take hit. It won't, most will think its a fun take on the Pixar characters and be ok with it, then move on with their lives.

It doesn't happen overnight, but all this can indeed contribute to the gradual diminishing of Pixar Studios' image as a high-quality production house. A while back, we got Cars Land. That was an unveiling that spoke volumes about Disney's respect for Pixar. Now we get one of the worst, most completely B.S. makeovers Disney's ever pulled. They are saying now that Pixar films are Carny material.

Imagine if Apple or Porsche were represented in a park by junk like this. It'd be funny as heck, but it sure wouldn't be good for the brands in the long run.

Granted, this doesn't cause Pixar's rep as much harm as the actual films "Good Dinosaur" and "Finding Dory"...

I love the look of the new entrance. It strongly resembles TSMM in TDS, which I think looks super classy. Agreed on everything else though.
