I agree that area needs improvement, and I hope something major's in the works. I do think the Wild Mouse and Spinners are just place-holders for a larger project; they were a quick replacement for the big Splashdown ride that had to go.I enjoy Knotts and are starting to like it more and more but honestly the boardwalk area in Knotts is terrible. It is just one huge area of concrete with a large pool with spinners plopped in the middle.
The lack of greenery makes it look worse.
The new coaster has some nice simple garden areas but it is still just a large coaster plopped over the concrete queue of endless switchbacks. The loading area is nothing special. It’s just an open air coaster loading platform with a covering right next to a large building with a mural.
In other words it’s pretty much what Screamin looked like.
The one huge difference is that DCA boardwalk actually has lots of structures within a compact area which makes the place feel a bit more like a boardwalk.
Knotts really needs to think about a more diverse roster of rides for the boardwalk area that would better use that piece of land
I'm still not letting Disney off the hook for keeping Screamin's brake run the ugliest ride section in any Disney park when ANY kind of simple props (surfboards, facades) would have fixed the issue with very little effort. 15 years of ugly!!!!
