That article used the name Pixar 13 times. You know how they say when you repeat a word over and over it starts to lose its meaning?

Yeah, this whole thing is a joke. Feed starving children with your $299.
Or feed starving children with the money you spend to go to Disney period. I doubt anybody hear really goes above and beyond daily to help those in need so no point in shaming others.

You're just not gonna be happy until everyone says Disney is greedy.... lol

LOL... no, I'm good. Maybe I'm just getting old and finding it harder to relate. I remember when you'd go to Disneyland or The Magic Kingdom and the overall experience was so outstanding that it almost felt like they were undercharging. Those days are clearly long gone.

Depends who you ask. Value is strictly in the eye of the beholder. Some see the memories they make in Disney parks and are willing to pay the prices because the memories made THERE are priceless to them.

But that's true of anything.

I'm also old enough to remember when a transcontinental coach flight to Orlando from California meant free checked baggage, plenty of legroom, and at least 2 complete complimentary meals. Do you think I feel cheated when I travel now? Damn right I do.

Now kindly get off my lawn. :D

Thats how I felt when they opened DCA. They tried to charge the same price for a total dud of a park. The difference then (thank god) people didn't fall for it and it forced them to improve it. Now of course you have laughable events like this charging people an arm and a leg to ride the same stuff they been riding, just with a few differences in themeing.

But sadly people will pay. I mean Carsland only cost around $80 to tour it before it opened to the public. You didn't get a 'red carpet' but no one cares about that. If this event sells out I can't even imagine what they have planned for SWG? They may just charge people $500 a day for a month until its 'official' opening.

Certainly and you're welcome to complain and feel cheated. Yet, those calling people "idiots", shaming and belittling are just looking like jerks. One person may not see the value in something as the other. Disney has been a part of my family well before my time. My great grandparents took my parents to the Magic Kingdom in the 70s and have continued to go since. Yea, it's gotten very expensive. However, this past April just my mom and I went and the memories we made together were so precious to me thay they couldn't be valued. To me, I was willing to pay to get in because inside I made memories with her that one day I'll look back and be happy about and are happy about today.

Some people find value in football tickets and enjoy the memories made there. They are willing to spend thousands for good tickets, snacks, parking etc. I would never do that or spend money as I see no value. But I be damned if I ever start shaming those who do.

But that is the thing, while you don't see value others do. Its what makes this a capitalist society. As long as someone is willing to pay they must see some value in it otherwise they wouldn't pay.

Do you think I don't know this? Likewise it should go without saying that if I think Disney is greedy then Disney is greed to me. It's my opinion and nothing more.

If you see value in paying $50 for a dog turd then that's your right but you're an idiot and should be publicly mocked

Totally get it, and I was one of those people who didn't think DCA was that bad. Yeah, it was overpriced, but I didn't mind because it worked for me and I knew it had potential. Still, when it opened anyone could see it wasn't even close to what Disneyland had to offer next door.

I'm just trying to explain why its not really considered greed, despite your opinion as such. So while you're entitled to think its greedy, it doesn't make it true for everyone. Once there is no more perceived value then its considered greed.

Well this is true too. End of the day people value what they value. I have a lot of friends who wouldn't pay more than $50 to go to Disneyland and can't believe people are willing to pay what they do to get in. On the flipside as you pointed out some of these people will pay hundreds to see a football game where I rather watch it for free on TV. Especially for something that is just a few hours.

I think the issue with this though (for people who hate it) is that there is no real incentive other than being able to say 'first'. Sure thats how it is for a lot of Disney openings but this has gotten out of hand to charge hundreds for something A. They all basically seen already just rethemed and B. That will be open to everyone a day later. I guess if they were doing this for GE no one here would even blink. It would almost feel like they were idiots for not doing something like that when that land opens.

But yeah beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. No one should call people names for wanting to do something they consider fun and they can afford it, fine. Its not hurting anyone. But I secretly hope this backfires because it does feel greedy to me too but I know it won't.
