I can understand things changing due to unforeseen circumstances that come up, but cutting things due to not wanting to fund them, after you've already made a world wide announcement and make more money than God? No.

I'm not sure what was cut from TSL. It looks like it was shops versus attractions but I'm not completely up to speed on what was originally announced. It also appears that the slinky coaster was going to go into the ground in carved out areas. Beyond that, it basically looks the same so I'm not sure how much of relevance to the average guest was cut.

The whole Woody's Village, Al's Toy Barn, A Table Service Restaurant themed to Buzz (from what Castmembers say), and a exit gift shop to Toy Story Midway Mania was cut, as well as A LOT of the decor...

I'm not specifically referring to Toy Story Land, as I've paid zero attention to that project.

But in general, we know Disney is famous for this, and it's pretty embarrassing for a company that brings in as much as they do.

If they announce things and then go over budget, they should cough it up and fork over the extra money, not start chipping away at the things you've already promised the people that spend thousands to come visit your theme parks.

It would seem that Jessie's ride has also been victim to budget cuts, as the updated concept art now uses the same roof as the current merry-go-round, just repainted.

What is Disney thinking? As the budget for the 1920's Victorian era upgrade was also slashed, and we know how that worked out.

Just a reminder that Knott's is opening a very awesome roller coaster in 2018. And unlike DCA, they're not just redressing an old coaster with an overlay no one wanted or asked for. It's a genuinely new ride. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney somehow managed to blow as much money on overpaid R&D for P. Pier signage as Cedar Fair did building an entire new roller coaster.

As more information and concept art has been released my feelings about Paradise Pier have gone from optimistic, to indifferent, to down right disgusted. It fails on even the most basic level of telling a cohesive story within the land. Why are the Toy Story characters hosting Midway games on a boardwalk, but the Incredibles characters live in a house with a roller coaster attached to it? Create a land where either each attraction takes you in to the world of that movie or a land where the characters are hosting attractions that strengthen the theme of the land. Having both style of attractions next to each other is sloppy bad storytelling.

Overall I still think this is a pretty lateral move. They took a poorly conceived poorly executed land and turned it into another poorly conceived poorly executed land. I'm just disappointed that they squandered this opportunity to improve this land.

And not only that, who knows what we would have gotten with marvel land had theyvexpanded it north into the bus dropoff. Was probably really ambitious. When easyern gateway failed, they moved the parking west and announced the new hotel, but despite adding 8,500 parking spaces total, nobody considered that dca still could reclaim that bus dropoff zone if they funnel the bus dropoff west from harbor via disney way, around the backside of dca, joining the rest of the guests entering security in downtown disney, though on the south end by paradise pier hotel. Now we will have a smaller dca over all, a cheaper marvel land, and this cheap pixar pier.

This is one cut I can get behind, at least somewhat. That giant Jessie statue would've been awful.
