News Paradise Pier Becoming Pixar Pier

This basically describes me with Harry Potter and WWoHP. I don't care for HP and had little interest in going to Florida to see the land. There's been one in my home state for a couple of years now and I've made zero effort to go.
Same reason I'll probably never set foot in Pandora.

But if the Potter books had never been written and Universal had built the exact same land based on their own in-house story of a Wizard School, would you be any more interested?

Good question. Maybe. I don't think my tastes are a good indicator of what would be successful though. The incredible success of WWoHP is proof.

I never got into the Harry Potter thing. My wife, on the other hand, loves the series, has read every book multiple times, has the DVD's, etc. Even dressed up as a student on Halloween.

But I fell in love with Wizardly World at USH, from watching it being built, the special access I got before opening, working with the Celebrity Apprentice, etc. Also love the musical shows they created. It is also a theme with long legs,

I remember when DCA was pushing the High School Musical craze, glad no signs of it remain in the park.

Same with HS where there was a High School Musical show between 2008 to 2010.

After the Tram, the new Harry Potter ride is my favorite ride in the park. The queue is wonderful and being so high up on the end of a robot arm is a lot of fun. I haven't had that much fun on a ride since Indy first opened. I do single rider multiple times when I'm at USH.

You keep talking about Pixar hate but I love Pixar, and I still hate Pixar Pier. Sooooooo.....
Perhaps you’re delineating the Pixar dislike in more ways. Still, there is no real loss since every ride that is currently in Paradise Pier will remain in Pixar Pier. So are we to criticize the loss of the tacky Victorian or “Santa Cruz” style architectural styles?

If there is an actual grand plan, then I would say Pixar Pier will centralize the kiddie areas and the Bugs Land will go away in favor of Marvel Land.

I suggest the whole Pier should be removed and they put in a 18 story Hotel Resort as a backdrop to World of Color and only saving Toy Story Mania on the first floor.

I've already explained why I feel it is a loss. The loss is an opportunity to lessen the IP mania and bring a creative, original area to the parks. Not another ad for the summer movie line up.

Did someone already mention how Jessie looks to be spinning a toy top and the attraction may not be a re-theme of the carousel but instead a spinner type ride?

;)

The problem is that a spinning top would also fit a carousel and this "upgrade" is basically a paint job, some signs, moving around existing attractions, and some minor overlay stuff. It could be something new but it seems more in keeping with Pixar Pier to be just more superficial change like the rest of the project.

First guess: it's still a carousel.

Although if not, I want a Jessie Tilt-A-Whirl. It would fit in fine with the rest of the off-the-rack rides.

EDIT:
After looking at the concept art I've discovered another possible change:

Incredicoaster is actually a boat ride!

Did someone already mention how Jack-Jack is being babysat in a home literally right next to a boardwalk coaster?

Attempting to use any logic here is futile because Disney's not doing the same. How does this giant Jesse statue make sense regardless of the ride inside? It's part of their flawed idea that more stuff translates to more detail or story. And since they're installing three giant Jesse statues in three different parks this year (!), I'm sure they got some kind of a discount. Buy two Jesse statues, get one half-off!

You know, I can forgive Disney for a lot of things, I'll eventually get over Pixar Pier. And losing the opportunity to make it better, and instead adding a bunch of cartoon statues, but removing the King Triton mural, with his dinner plate sized pecks, is a sting that will reverberate down through my very core for all eternity.

Gonna miss those nips for sure

I think the carousel roof still looks like a stretched canopy like the current one. Just a new one with a new design scheme. The structure is repainted. Jessie is added. Sea animals replaced with horses. New name is woodys round up. Done. New theme for the carousel. More bland and more like the DL version. I assume the Fontains Along the edge will be removed and the awkward incredibles waterfall added. It actually looks like the entire carousel will be walled in - except the front. Maybe it will be a huge circular woody themed mural inside but not sure how the wall will look on the TSMM side. The coaster side would have the waterfall. So many lingering questions and flaws with this garbage.
