Its also a little early to be comparing park presence considering Coco just opened a week ago.
They had a little multi-day celebration that came and went with Dia De Muertos. How that plays the rest of the year compared to a Latina Princess is anyone's guess. But I doubt you'll see much Coco beyond Halloween/Dia De Muertos time.

As for cultures, I'd love to see them more represented. But it needs to be because the IP or attraction calls for it, not just to get a different culture represented.

Hmm, wait isn't that what World Showcase was suppose to be about? A place to represent different cultures....

So why can't DCA have a World Showcase but on a smaller scale. Even tie it back to CA if you wish as CA is now multicultural.

Well, rumors are circulating about a ride at Epcot. I don't think they'd have the attraction only available one holiday a year. My guess; we'll see a permanent attraction in the next 2-3 years if the rumors are true. Also probably an addition to the parade. I'd love to see a Coco nighttime parade, that would be gorgeous.

It’s too bad that the Coco ride is going in Epcot instead of DCA/ California which has a much bigger Mexican population than Florida.

I agree. But with Marvel plans in constant flex, Pixar Pier needing attractions, and the Hollywood Studios Backlot section still changing plans daily, you never know what might happen.

That is at Epcot, we've been discussing DCA. I've even said the Mexico Pavilion would be the best place for a Coco attraction. But for DCA I just don't see it happening. Now I'd love to be proven wrong, but with everything currently announced or rumored it appears DCA has its set of future attractions for at least the next 5 years.

Oh, I was just going off of you saying that we wouldn't be seeing much Coco and we'd be seeing more Eleanor. A new Coco ride satisfies me plenty.

As for DCA, everything is kind of up in the air with the Eastern Gateway and the ever-changing minds.

Helps to read all the posts from a person on a topic lol :p;)

While the Eastern Gateway has thrown a wrench in some of the plans, I have a feeling they had Plan A, B, C, D, etc. And even Plan A.1, A.2, A.3, etc. So that means while things can be ever changing they probably have things pretty set, its just size and scope of set plans that is in flux. That is my humble opinion anyways....

Um, but they already used a budget on a pre-school show character. She has her own parade and M&G. So she already has a presence in DCA.

Just for clarification, I never said it was a for sure thing that Elena would be getting an attraction. I just said in my opinion that Elena would get one in DCA before Coco ever did. Which means to say I don't think either of them will get their own attraction anytime soon.

Maybe it's my fault for not keeping up or something, but I have no idea who Elena is.

Coco is quickly becoming a beloved film that celebrates a culture rarely represented by Disney, has decent songs, and a heartwarming (albeit cliche, and very reminiscent of Pixar's previous work) story. It has incredibly unique and detailed environments that would translate really well into a dark ride environment. I'd actually be excited to see Disney build a Coco attraction, just to see that world brought to life- since a ride would be free of the limited storytelling the film offered.

Once again, I have no idea who Elena is, but I doubt whatever she is in is of the quality that coco is, and would be surprised if whatever she was in was more attraction worthy than Coco.

Interesting. Personally, I find any notion that a Disney Channel Junior princess could potentially get an attraction at the DLR at all to be a bit of a stretch. Especially with the untapped gold mine that is Frozen and Beauty and the Beast, or Coco since that's the comparison being made.

But it looks like I'm late to the party on this one, and everything I'm saying has essentially been said before.

A lot of people missed the point of what I said, which appears to be common on Disney forums over the years not just here. Basically I don't think either Coco nor Elena will get an attraction in DCA (again only talking about DCA here not Disney Parks around the world). My personal opinion is that the first Disney Latina Princess would get one before a guitar strumming 12 yr old from Mexico if the option of building only one of the two was an option in DCA. But again I don't think either is an option now or in the near future in DCA. And just to be clear, this is not a swipe at Coco I think the story is great. I actually would like to see both built as I want more cultural diversity in DCA and other Disney Parks. I just think one is more likely than the other in DCA (again only talking about DCA here not Disney Parks around the world).

In fact to expand on that, I would like to see Moana and Mulan, and other Princesses from different cultures, also get attractions.

Its just my personal opinion, that is all.

I think the problem is you're saying Elena WOULD get one before Coco rather than saying Elena SHOULD get one before Coco.

I'm stating opinion not fact, which I've clearly identified. The fact the reader chooses the take it as fact is up to the readers own interruption.

No one is taking that up as fact, we're just saying why we don't think your opinion works.

Its still my opinion whether anyone agrees with it or not.

I still do not believe Coco will get an attraction in DCA anytime soon. Whether Elena or any other Disney Princess gets one or not is moot.

The only new rides at DLR I would bank on within the next 5 years, besides Star Wars, is Marvel. I think the land of the dead (or whatever it’s called) could make a great setting for a dark ride. With that said Coco would probably have to wait in line behind Frozen and Mickeys runaway railway.

Now that I've thought about it for a bit, the idea of a coco themed indoor dark ride would be amazing. There's a lot to explore in the world set up in the film, with tons of opportunity for unique lighting and animatronic effects. If done properly, with a healthy budget, the ride could be amazing.

They could completely ignore the main family in the film- and have it be your own adventure in the land of the dead.

The world building in this film was some of the best Pixar's done (and is easily better than Frozen), since it was as much driven by the world as it was the characters.

Frozen relies on the characters. Coco relies on the lore, world, and overarching theme of family., which in my opinion makes it much more suitable for a dark ride.

Having something like this would really help strengthen Pixar Pier, by giving it something substantial that's unique to that land.
