News Paradise Pier Becoming Pixar Pier

Not one of the new offerings coming to WDW interests me/makes me jealous. Also, their 50th is coming up, so it makes sense the resort is getting some new additions.

I don't understand why fans care so much about what one resort is getting and what the other isn't.
Not even the Rat or gondolas?

You left out two new hotels, a Guardians of The Galaxy attraction, and WDW's own on-demand taxi service. All of this on top of the recently opened World of Avatar and the forthcoming SW: Galaxy's Edge and Pixar land.

Goodbye Disneyland. This mouseketeer is going to Disney World! :D
Don't forget to visit Tokyo Disney Resort.

Yeah I don't like it at all. At least with Star Wars Land they found a creative way around it (placement aside). But Pixar Pier?

Oh ya I hate the name Galaxies Edge too. Who the heck is coming up these names!?!

I wouldn't call SWL creative, but I get what you're saying. It's not a cheap overlay the way Pixar Pier is.

It sounds like a Samsung phone. Disney has lost their creative touch.

Not even the Rat or gondolas?

No. None of the WDW offerings are of any concern to me, with maybe the exception of Guardians in EPCOT. Just more evidence Disney is not who they once were, but other than that...

This is just so strange to me.......

But my head goes here.....DCA and DHS both are going to become franchise parks

So with DCA……rename DCA "Disney World of Adventures" Park. Other changes would include:

-BV Street stays, dedicated to Walt's CA story.

-Grizzly Peak Recreation Area says

-Carsland stays

-Pixar Pier will be the area from Ariels Grotto to the swings. Slowly rolling make over converts the rides to Pixar theme

-Hollywood gets rebuilt and includes new Mickey Rides at DHS. Becomes Mickey's HollywoodLand. Art deco style fab 5 area. Maybe move Roger Rabbit here to save it from the FL expansion. Cool meet and greet for Mickey like what we have in ToonTown currently. Possibly Philharmagic?

-Bugs land goes, that area becomes main entry into "Superhero Universe" (Marvel Superhero Universe if the Marvel brand can be used)

- Struggling with the main walkway from Winery to Sky School. I was thinking since it’s such a wide walkway and highly themed to CA (winery, wharf, painted Ladies of San Francisco, plus Ariel.....maybe a "California Road trip" area with winery, Pacific Wharf, play up the painted ladies (maybe redress the facade on the side of Mermaid overflow queue area. Plus Ariel can be a Pacific waterfront area. Maybe add Mystic Manor with an exterior and vide designed to mimic the exterior ad folklore of the Winchester Mystery House.

Not a bad park if this happen in my opinion.

I...am theoretically ok with an upgrade. And if this brings that I can learn to live with it. But just slapping Pixar barf on everything is not my preferred way of getting an update, and it's leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

That said, trashing Soundsational in favor of the garbage Pixar Parade ultimately offends me more than Pixar Pier Pressure does.

If this happens, can we at least get a tunnel for Screamin' so that your first sight on the ride isnt an ugly unthemed wall?

I thought it was pretty funny when they announced Pixar at Disneyland compared to Paint the Night at DCA

"Pixar Play Parade is coming to Disneyland!" **crickets**

"Paint the Night is coming to DCA!" **windows shatter from screaming**

I can see why they announced PTN coming back, but it seems odd to announce one parade will be moving from DCA to DL. Does it really matter when it's all at the same resort? Seems more of a Parks Blog feature than something to announce at the D23 Expo.

Come on man, you know that isn't what I'm talking about.

Haha you re right. I know it's not what you re talking about. My disconnect is here - I'm just not understanding why Disney sees any value in a Pixar land of rethemed flat rides when they have high quality and better themed Pixar rides spread through out the resort, including the universally praised Cars Land.
