Tomorrowland’s mission statement can evolve to include green initiatives and protecting the environment. Avatar will be the perfect medium to do it.

We've had enough of giant blue space hippies in Animal Kingdom, why not use the Aliens franchise to bring across the idea in stark reality that no matter how much one thinks they are "advanced", they are little more than just a meat snack.

Where's the "NO AVATAR" option? I'm sorry, but Avatar is boring. Pandora is boring. The characters of Pandora are so boring no one remembers their names. Instead, build the Land of the Dead from Coco--That would be a thousand times more interesting (and it should go into DCA).
(Edit) Okay, so I voted "Third Park," but in my case "Third Park" means "Flaming Dumpster."
Build the Land of the Dead from the movie Land of the Dead. All Disneyland needs is a zombie apocalypse area for Halloween or as an AP hangout.

The "Aliens" franchise is not stark reality. It's a story made up by screenwriters. You're right about giant blue space hippies, though. Why can't we have more sci-fi that's not preachy touch-feely, but not ultra-pessimistic and simply about good, ordinary folks trying to live good lives in wondrous worlds. It can be done! That's what happens to one's movie tastes as one ages. I've realized what I want from sci-fi is a Seinfeld-like comedy set among the administration offices of Star Fleet. And half of it takes place in restaurants and apartments.

An entirely IP based expansion of Disneyland, one of which is completely non Disney, and the other is based on two lousy films that are irrelevant to anyone born after the '70s?

A huge demolition of half of Disneyland to bring in a bunch of cloned attractions?

Completely abondoning Walt's framework for the park in favor of a "ride the movies" approach?

Yikes.
Disney is slowly becoming universal. next thing you know there will be a screen ride like fast and furious--wait mickey's runaway rail train adventure is coming. oooh I spoke too late

Is it true that most of the Avatar merchandise in Pandora has been mostly replaced by generic goods since opening, WDWers? If so, not a good sign for any future Avatar representation in the parks.

That just the Florida's reality distortion field. WDW's star wars land is definitely smaller and if Disneyland had Pandora there would be no reason to go to Florida except to watch pale coeds on Spring Break.
Nahhhhhh, WDW's star wars land is 20x bigger I heard.

Of course, but more realistic as the best intentions don't equate to positive results (insert California here :) ) . It doesnt have to be saccharine sweet to provide entertainment.

Not as of yesterday. They've added less expensive trinkets and plushes, but not generics. I have yet to see a blue Goofy or Mickey.

almost, rascal

would have been everywhere if anybody else wanted it
- fop completely obsoletes soarin, and still... gotta scrape off the aliens

The new Snorin' has just as many CGI characters as FoP. Soarin over California was better, but they wanted something that would be palatable to the ChiComs.
