Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

Tdl is refreshing their parade. So this is very much a concept piece for Tokyo.

This is not concept art for Dreamlights. It's some kind of bizarre promo art for a mobile carrier. Dreamlights is not getting a refreshed Cheshire Cat float or a Dory float. This refresh will be a new Frozen unit, redone Cinderella unit and reintroducing Beauty and the Beast unit.

My close friend that works in Disney backstage said they/have been planing stuff for a new nighttime parade! Imagineers have been going around the parade storage buildings with blue prints hopefully this is true!

No they are measuring the float buildings for the new indoor executive parking areas. Cant have a park executives Mercedes or Lexus damaged by hail or bird droppings can we

No, they have to walk a Mile to where their Offices are on Main Street (3rd Floor above the Gift Shops).

dollywood also debuted a christmas light parade this past season, not sure how good it was but the promo pictures looked really nice.

yet Disney trashed spectro, (inept management) and doesn't want to bother or spend $ for a new one, (chapek and TDO) :banghead:
Went to Dollywoods Light show and was very good and quite long too! I loved and miss SPECTRO and Missed MSEP last year during our visit rained out :arghh: and now it's gone forever. Visiting again for the Holidays in Nov. this year would be awesome if they had something in its place. Would love to see PTN since I've never been to DL.

Considering MSEP has been around in one form or another since the 70's, they really DO need to retire it. The floats are outdated and the lighting technology is completely obsolete. They should bring PTN or some version of it to WDW, not having a night time parade at WDW anymore would be a bad idea. I'l keep my fingers crossed that they consider a PTN 2.0 for WDW at some point in the future.

I'm crossing my fingers that they don't bring the mess that is known as Paint the Night, rather they should revive Spectromagic in a similar manor as Dreamlights did to MSEP.

I believe somewhere on some thread, this picture was brought up and someone was able to show it was an advertisement for a cell phone company in Japan and was pure promo material for that around a year ago and had nothing to do with any changes to Dreamlights or with a new parade for TDO.

DL started making paint the night in the early 2014 Hong kong started to make their's in mid 2013.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant to say that Paint the Night was began in Glendale as a project for Disneyland's 55th. Instead, it was carted over to HKDL for budget/crowding reasons. Those two reasons don't seem to be a factor anymore though.

I thought Hong Kong made both PTNs at the same time?

PTN was planned for Disneyland's 55th?????? I can't believe they didn't push for that! That would of made perfect timing since C!ASP was in DL, and POD wasn't there anymore. Of course, DL had the golden opportunity to bring back MSEP from DCA when WOC was opening. We all know where that went....

There never was a nighttime parade planned for the 55th.... in 2014 they wanted to make a new parade but since they didn't have enough time they went with paint the night.

I wonder who will be in charge of MKs parade, Steve Davison or WDWs team. Either way I hope they take a different approach than the PTN "rave" design. Upbeat and fun is good but MK needs something more elaborate like the Dreamlights design. I imagine the tech for Dreamlights is Not cheap, and therefore probably Way out of TDOs ability and budget lol.

Steve's working his "magic" on Fantasmic!! at DLR at the moment. And by "magic" I mean butchering it worse than he did over in Tokyo. :(

Love the guy, he swings for the fences. But when he misses, he misses BIG. Once Fantasmic!! is done in a few weeks (from his perspective), maybe he'll be retasked to a WDW project.

And to be clear about Dreamlights: yeah their "refreshes" that happen every few years cost more than most parks spend on their biggest rides. You're right that that's probably out of WDW's league until their attitude toward parades improves. Over the last 15 years, WDW has gone from 6 daily parade showings to 1. :(
