Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

That and WDW guests still aren't used to not having an electrical parade not running daily.

Will be interesting to see if HEA is popular enough to make up for no parade, which is what TDO is hopeing for. HEA may be good but it sure won't replace a parade. Even Paris fans are missing not having a nighttime parade and they have the amazing Disney Dream, or well now Disney Illuminations.

Not that I am a big fan of Spectro, but is there anything left that they could cobble together a new parade until they figure out what to do for the long haul? Did they really put everything in the dumpster? Seems like a non-Disney move to intentionally trash a parade that didn't run that long. Something is better then nothing even if it is Spetromagic.

I think the only floats that survived were Chernabog and the Mermaid fish

Yea, I was going to mention these videos. I watched a bit of this 2017 one the other day, and it still mentions a night time parade: (around 8:12)

To be fair, it also mentions Wishes... plus, the 2017 planning DVD mentions that RoL opened in Spring of 2016 (26:58 mark)... so, despite the fact that they are sending this planning DVD out in 2017, it was last updated in 2015/2016 and really needs a revision... which I'm sure HAS to be coming soon with RoL being officially open, Happily Ever After, and Pandora...

It's long gone. What was salvageable was literally tossed into dumpsters and crushed. Well, except for the pieces they kept so they could make money on pins for years and years and years...

Hey I have one of those Limited Edition Spectro Magic pins! Maybe if we take up a collection of those pins we can start gluing the pieces back together! :joyfull:

In all seriousness, I loved Spectro and would love to see it in some reincarnated form!

Better yet, lets get a parade that is a mish-mash of Spectro and The Tapestry of Nations parade!

DLP just had their 25th anniversary and on the day of their anniversary, they had a parade which was basically just every costumed character they had sitting around in costuming separated roughly into the major lands of the park (i.e. Tarzan and Aladdin in the Adventureland Section, Stitch in the Tomorrowland Section, etc) and they had some SUPER rare/unusual characters... Jessica Rabbit, characters from Treasure Planet, Chicken Little, and Atlantis, Kuzco, the Darkwing Duck Gang, the supplementary characters from Big Hero 6 (GoGo, Wasabi, Honey Lemon, etc).. yeah... with proper lighting, something like that would certainly appease many of the die-hard Disney fans out there...

The parade wasn't a sometimes offered event though. It was an institution that's happened like clockwork for decades.

It's like assuming the Magic Kingdom will be open when you go on vacation.
Excellent, excellent point, Martin. Other than for special events or construction on parade route, when was the last time there was a significant gap in electrical/night time parades? 1971 to 1977? Seriously...MSEP '77 to 91, Spectro '91 to '99, MSEP '99 to '01, Spectro '91 to '10, MSEP '10 to '16, then...big fat nothing. Generations of people have every reason to believe there will be a night time parade. Sure, the average guest may not know SpectroMagic from MSEP, but they expect a night parade. Good analogy!

Well one thing is for sure MK attendance doesn't look like it's low... especially this week!

I think not having a parade is making the attractions even more busy at night .

And for that matter Shanghai doesn't have a nighttime parade....

Also I know this is off topic but how do all of magic kingdom's parade floats fit inside 2 buildings? Also how do they make floats if they have no float repair thing/warehouse like DL does?
