Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

I don't know why it would they had MSEP stored somewhere didn't they? I would guess they have space right now.

Any parade entering MK from now on, from another park or brand new, would require a new parade shed?

I was under the impression the current parade shed is not big enough to hold PtN which was another one of the cons against it being sent east.

I cant imagine a float bigger than FOF's ending balloon.
I remember reading that they had to remove some christmas decoration because they could hit the floats.

I was referring to space as well as how large the floats are. Then again they must have space available with MSEP gone.

When I saw PTN last April at Disneyland I was very impressed and immediately thought about how it would fit into MK if it ever transferred. Between PTN and Disneyland's night fireworks show they focused on MANY classic Disney films. At MK they seem to narrow everything down to just a few popular ones in the past 20 years and it seems to always be that way. Maybe that's why I was impressed with the DL nighttime shows so much. They don't seem pressured by promoting a sales pitch to guests and instead aim their shows at memories the guests have of Disney when they grew up. I really hope that MK would follow this example and tap into that idea rather than cycling the same themes over and over again.

Huh, what classic disney films did you see in PTN, a couple Peter Pan characters and Cinderella on a small wagon? There is Ariel and Belle, but they're not exacly classic. And the fireworks, they were DL forever, so a Mary Poppins number and Winnie the Pooh? I guess you could say Peter Pan because of Tink. Could you explain which classic Disney films you saw in the entertainment?

Or instead of picking apart my post you can just Google everything for yourself.

Sorry but i disagree with this. There is nothing classic about Paint The Night. It's pop soundtrack and mix of Pixar and Disney Princesses isn't anything to write home about. As for Disneyland Forever it also left me disappointed as I didn't care for the Live The Magic song. It was nice that they included a Winnie the pooh segment but for the most part it's just the standard Disney mix of films that is always included. I'm really hoping that Happily Ever After is as great as Wishes was.

Walt Era:
Peter Pan (Peter speaks and projected, and Tink)
Mary Poppins (whole section)
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (whole section)
The Jungle Book (whole section)
Pinocchio (When you Wish Upon a Star is part of the finale)

Renaissance Era:
Lion King (whole section)
Little Mermaid (whole section)

Pixar:
Finding Nemo (whole section)

New Era:
Tangled (whole section)
Frozen (whole section)

You're right DL forever totally forgets the Walt Era films

The Main St strung decorations were removed due to FoF.

This made me sad as they made it feel so much more christmasy than the wreaths hung on the sides of buildings. I guess that's the cost of getting a wonderful parade! I know that PtN caused the same thing with DL and their garlands...

If you want a better nighttime parade that focuses on classic Disney films during the Walt Era while blending in some modern Disney films and even a few Pixar films. Check out Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights which looked more impressive compared to PTN and serves as a proper way of a modern MSEP which PTN was mostly called before it debuted at DL.

There's always a lot of fan consternation over the films chosen for PTN.

What most people forget (or maybe just don't know) is that PTN was developed for HKDL, where there is far less knowledge and attachment to older Disney properties. Hence the emphasis on newer films in the parade.

DLR copied PTN and added Frozen (whole unit), Peter Pan (drum float), Cinderella and Rapunzel (additions to Belle unit) to the show. If DLR had opted for an original parade instead of a copy of HKDL's the films represented in the parade would have differed.

Always dangerous to inject facts and common sense into a Disney fanboi discussion. ... FWIW, I love PtN and have yet to see it in HKDL, but couldn't see it enough in Anaheim. I don't have as much consternation (shouldn't it be constipation, really?) over the films chosen. Disney always prefers newer stuff anyway. They also have a mandatory rule about "Under the Sea" and "Let It Go" being in any/every show, parade, pyro presentation. Anyway, love the show ... and fully expect it to relaunch with Fantasmic this summer.

BTW, have I mentioned how utterly thrilled I was to see Wishes for the very last time (until they bring it back) last week? No more moppets singing about Wishes will greatly improve my visit to the Swamp Kingdom.

We all know how Disney loves their "For a limited return due to popular demand!" Got to sell those t-shirts and cupcakes!!

But seriously, do you expect the new show to flop, thus requiring them to bring back Wishes or just expecting them to bring it back a la my statement above?

I don't know anything about the new show beyond it coming from FL and not involving Steve Davison (not necessarily a bad thing as it should have a different feel). My gut says that Disney might bring Wishes back for the summer of '21 before it debuts the 50th show much like Remember was brought back this year in Anaheim (still wonder whether the plan is Star Wars pyro this summer as it was).

Good points as always @WDW1974 - it's interesting that TDO hasn't been using Davison lately. Maybe they're trying to set their own creative identity? Maybe they're cheap?

It is interesting. I am not sure why they aren't. Although he has so many projects going that there is only so much he can oversee at once. And while Wishes was impressive to look at, it was easily my least favorite of his major shows. And WDW has been putting out some nice entertainment finally from small scale (Muppets in LS) to large (RoL).
