Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

It is interesting. I am not sure why they aren't. Although he has so many projects going that there is only so much he can oversee at once. And while Wishes was impressive to look at, it was easily my least favorite of his major shows. And WDW has been putting out some nice entertainment finally from small scale (Muppets in LS) to large (RoL).

I didnt get to see the muppets or ROL on my last visit, but I've heard good things. I agree their new stuff has been quality entertainment. I'm hoping for the best for the next few shows. I'm assuming you've heard nothing about a new night parade?

Always dangerous to inject facts and common sense into a Disney fanboi discussion. ... FWIW, I love PtN and have yet to see it in HKDL, but couldn't see it enough in Anaheim. I don't have as much consternation (shouldn't it be constipation, really?) over the films chosen. Disney always prefers newer stuff anyway. They also have a mandatory rule about "Under the Sea" and "Let It Go" being in any/every show, parade, pyro presentation. Anyway, love the show ... and fully expect it to relaunch with Fantasmic this summer.

BTW, have I mentioned how utterly thrilled I was to see Wishes for the very last time (until they bring it back) last week? No more moppets singing about Wishes will greatly improve my visit to the Swamp Kingdom.

So as far as you're concerned Paint the Night is coming back to Disneyland after June 18th??

Any word on this new Fantasmic? Do you know what's going on? They've been so quiet about it.

There's always a lot of fan consternation over the films chosen for PTN.

What most people forget (or maybe just don't know) is that PTN was developed for HKDL, where there is far less knowledge and attachment to older Disney properties. Hence the emphasis on newer films in the parade.

DLR copied PTN and added Frozen (whole unit), Peter Pan (drum float), Cinderella and Rapunzel (additions to Belle unit) to the show. If DLR had opted for an original parade instead of a copy of HKDL's the films represented in the parade would have differed.
I forgot PTN is 4 years older than the one at DL.

PTN at Hong Kong is the same but shorter.

PTN will return to DL sometime this Summer and hopefully ending MSEP for real after that. I hope they don't plan on bringing it back to WDW after the sad shape the parade was treated by TDO.

Nope. And I'm honestly not even sure there will be one. People talk about the 50th, but if Disney can get away without one, then why wouldn't they? DL was fine without one for almost two decades ... it isn't a must just because people have become conditioned to one. Same thing with nightly pyro shows for that matter, although I see them now as almost a scared cow with Guests.

Yes, even though bus drivers and Disney bloggers swear it is coming to the MK.

Fantasmic 2.0 is going to be great. Really. A perfect updating of a classic. The only question is when it will be ready due to ... The Star Wars Experience: Bob Iger's Ego on Display for Decades to Come.

WDW bloggers and visitors must be very desperate for a new electrical to happen.

Also isnt it weird that on the website it does not say Paint the night is closed for refurb? Ever since paint the night ended it completely disappeared off the Disneyland website.

Have they ever had a parade put into the refurb category before on the website?

Good to hear! I'm really excited to see what they have in store for Fantasmic. It's one of the reasons I fell into this Disney fandom obsession back when 10 year old me went to Disneyland for the first time in 2001...

I just hope they keep the main core of the music intact... I cannot stand what they did with TDS's version... if I hear imagination repeated one more time.:banghead:

Well on the Main Show schedule page it said the Soundsational parade was on refurb but now they got rid of that message since it comes back on March 24 2017. Also on the pixar play parade page it says it returns in the summer why could they not do that with paint the night instead of taking it off the site completely?

Well because there is another night parade running?

Good points as always @WDW1974 - it's interesting that TDO hasn't been using Davison lately. Maybe they're trying to set their own creative identity? Maybe they're cheap?
It may also be because TDO is more concerned with running an efficient operation and Davison's shows are operational nightmares. (for better or worse.)

Well, if DL isn't going to use it anyway. Bringing it back to WDW might be the only logical choice.

This. I feel like the Happily Ever After is very much a filler show until the 50th. Then we'll get a returning classic Wishes, maybe with projections like the new RDCT at DL.

Also, Spirit, we have seen a resurgence of people claiming Illuminations may get an update sooner than later.

I'm sure the moppets will find something trite to sing about.

Likely because they want everyone's focus to be on coming to DL to see MSEP before it "Glows Away Forever" again. They will post PTN returning around mid May I would assume.

How is this WDW's Fault? It only got wrecked from the amounts of times it traveled across the contry.

Or because there are no float maintenance facilities in Orlando and basically any parade float down there ends up in horrific shape (or completely destroyed, as in the case of SpectroMagic... *sniff*). But yeah, you can believe the "the amount of times is traveled across the country" excuse if you want.
