Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

TDO should be embarrassed and ashamed. For a lot of reasons, not just this one.

That's the truth.

I chuckle at those who think a place like WDW would never go the next five years without a parade. Doesn't surprise me in the least that that is what the plan seems to be. They're probably thrilled to not have to foot that bill and if guests don't complain and get used to not having one? Score another win for the books. It's sad in the fact that they never used to be run this way. It WOULD be unacceptable that there's no night parade but now it's probably viewed as a burden lifted (by most, probably not by all). Too bad they were shortsighted and trashed Spectro. I swear idiots run these parks.

I understand being potentially blindsided by TDA wanting the MSEP back but they're sitting on plans for a new parade, apparently, so IMPLEMENT THEM! They seem to waste so much time trying to save a buck or hemming and hawing about what to do.

Look WDI has several new parades 'on the shelf' for WDW, until Disney changes its customer focus from Wall Street BACK to the Guest these parades will never see the dark of night because under the current BoD they will never be greenlit 50'th anniversary notwithstanding.

Look Iger does not care about managing the company, he cares about managing the STOCK PRICE because that's what his compensation is based on.

If you look at TDO's actions through a stock price management lens they all make sense.

Exactly. No one should be holding their breath for a new parade. Guests need to start demanding one though. I guess we're getting "new fireworks" to "shut up" those complaining. Nice, isn't it? They begrudgingly update their fireworks. It's run so well in Orlando. Glad they truly care about guest satisfaction ...

This is absolutely beautiful. The whole thing looks more dynamic, the lights look a lot better, and the bass drum is just icing on the cake. Why the living heck couldn't this get done for its run at WDW? "Disney's Electrical Parade" looked so forced and corny. THIS is the real deal here!! Can't wait to see "Disneyland Presents" alternate with this classic logo!
That's the main thing that bugged me about MSEP being at WDW. They didn't even attempt to change the logo.

It's those details that make all the difference, isn't it? It's another example that Disneyland is... different.

It will be interesting to see and hear this refurbished parade when it debuts at Disneyland this weekend. Although, I have to chuckle as I look at the forecast and see that Southern California is supposed to have a very wet and rainy weekend in this incredible drought-busting winter. It's formal debut may be delayed if its rained out this Friday night.
At least the floats music will be turned up compared to it's run at WDW where's the floats were very quiet.

Maybe MK'S numbers should tank in the evenings! That should light a fire!

I suspect in some ways they will/are? I doubt "tank" is the right word... but some folks may not go back to the parks at night if they have already seen the firework and since there is no parade. It's probably minimal though... they can make up any of that by raising prices on everything else, adding a few extra hour pay for play events, or cabanas somewhere

By them not trying to at least run FOF at night, that should tell you they really don't care about having a parade at night. If they did care they would be trying to figure something out.

I would imagine running Festival of Fantasy at night would cause Casting issues as some of the cast in the parade have other roles during the day at Magic Kingdom.

I've never understood why FoF at night was even an attractive option for some. I mean, if you see it during the day, would you really stick around to see it again at night? Probably not.

I always thought that option was really weak. I don't want a second showing of something I can see already during the day. I want a unique night parade, designed to take advantage of showing after dark, not just a day parade with some lights thrown in.

Surely they knew for some time they would be returning MSEP to DL. They had time to put a plan in place before leaving their guests high and dry.

Well i believe the plan was always to reduce operating cost. This was a simple entertainment cut. Running the parade at night would actually create overtime for some of the performers, so I don't see that as an option, unless attendance drops.
