It means everything that the Disney parks have churned out in the past 15 years. Everything that isn’t complete and utter garbage, that is.
“Garbage.”

I mean I wasn’t being rude until you said “please don’t try to educate me” which I found rude.
It was a bit rude to try and and imply they aren't using the correct terms in how they gauge an attraction. Just because someone thinks differently about subjective things such as art doesn't mean that they need your help to find the right words and classifications.

I didn’t mean to come off rude. I don’t always use the right word. Sometimes I post something while multitasking or with kids all over me. We’re human. Sometimes we make mistakes. That’s ok. I was wondering if he truly thinks MMRR is “excellent” or if it was just a word he quickly chose with not much thought and if he stands by MMRR being excellent in comparison to other truly excellent rides in the park.

I like Runaway Railway and think it's fun. I am excited to ride it again when I go back.

It's not the best attraction in the history of ever, but I do think some here are harsher on it than it really deserves in the light of some of the other choices Disney's made recently.

I do think it's a bit of a bold statement to say EVERYTHING from the last 15 years is hot garbage. There's been some bad things, but there's been some good too.

Just wondering, am I one of those people being harsh because I have said that I like MMRR and have been very specific about what I do and don’t like about it. I take objection to it being “excellent” though. Excellent to me means amazing and near perfect. I think I would have let a “great” slide. Excellent is overboard IMO. At least on a site like this where we rate and analyze these things ad nauseum. Lol. Doesn’t leave much nuance for when we’re talking about things that are truly or more objectively excellent.

I'm kinda with @Professortango1 in this instance. You definitely have opinions on MMRR, which is valid, but sometimes the way those thoughts are expressed can come off more harsh than you might intend. It did feel a little bit when I shared my enthusiasm for the ride on/after my summer trip that you felt as if my opinion of it was too positive.

I do agree that we've gotten to a point as a culture where we tend to overuse some adjectives like awesome to the point that they have lost all real meaning, but sometimes you can be a little 'my way or the highway' when it comes to how other people view things when all of this is very subjective.

Excellent to me means amazing and near perfect.
Whereas to me, “amazing” and “near perfect” mean something even better than “excellent”.

You yourself have used the latter word to describe something as mundane as a corndog. Most people generally understand it to denote something that’s really, really good. To me, personally, Runaway Railway is really, really good—excellent. That’s just my own subjective viewpoint, and I don’t expect others to share it.

No, you just prefaced it with “really good.” It already got demoted. I rest my case

Alright. Fair enough although I think it’s fair for me to object to the statement “MMRR has nothing wrong with it.”

This isn’t a mature or honest response to what I wrote, but I really am moving on this time.

Haha ok sorry. I just feel like deep down you know that excellent was a tad much. I feel like you prefacing it with “really good” this time was a little reflection/ honestly coming through.

I’m glad you too enjoyed Runaway Railway. I personally love the shorts, so being able to “enter” them was really cool, plus I was totally won over by the song (an instant earworm) and Chuuby (adorable!).

As the discussion over in the CBJ thread demonstrates, equally passionate Disney fans can hold very different opinions of the same thing. (For what it’s worth, and as you know, I consider CBJ to be excellent too.)

I guess I didn’t word things correctly, but I don’t think everything in the parks from the past 15 years is garbage. I would put most of it into the mediocre/sufficient category (“mid”). I’d probably reserve the label of “bad” for stuff like Pixar Pier and TSL (minus Slinky).

Also, I’m referring to the US parks here. Haven’t gotten a chance to visit the international parks, but a lot of their recent additions do look impressive.

In the US, I would consider RSR and Carsland, FOP, ROTR, and MMRR (at least within Disneyland) as better than mid. I could see the argument for MB to be included within that company-thematic issues aside, I find the attraction overall to be an improvement over what was there before. I wouldn't question anyone who preferred the original DCA TOT, though I'm not sure that ride was objectively a masterpiece either.

Internationally, I would throw in, at minimum, MM, BGR, and Shanghai Pirates as proof that the company can still create great attractions when they want to.

For me, it would just be RSR and FOP (though I’ve grown tired of that ride).
