Filming is taking place at SFS today. Walked around where I could to take a few photos. Call it misguided nostalgia for DCA 1.0, but I think the bridge is looking really nice all things considered.

Still don’t know about that bridge, but I’ll wait till it’s completely complete. However I do really like that new Ghirardelli sign, that imagery is actually giving me major San Fran vibes

I have actually seen very minimal advertising for this project. There have been a few update articles, but that’s all I’ve seen.

It's actually kind of amazing how Disney outwardly, steadfastly insists it is still being driven by synergy, and we still see evidence of that mindset driving internal decisions, but more and more they have fumbled the bag at actually advertising and spreading word about what they're doing, so they never get the revenue/awareness bump that they're expecting from many of their newer projects.
In the nineties they'd have new film characters in the parks, full parades, big marketing pushes in every arena for everything they were doing. Now they act like advertising or even doing something as basic as putting new characters in the parks is hard, or a big ask. It's like at some point they assumed that people would just come for their products and stay informed on what Disney was doing of their own volition, and forgot that people can't/won't get excited about their products if they don't know they exist.

I've only ever seen a promoted IG story advertising SFS coming later this summer and the TikTok that featured the new Baymax M&G suit.
I'm sure we'll see more since it's set to officially open next week (and again, I saw a lot of filming happening when I went) but I really don't think the GP knows what's happening here beyond "oh, Big Hero 6 is coming to DCA" if at all. I’ve asked my non-Disney park friends if they’re excited for SFS and I’m usually met with blank stares or “oh yeah”s.

I'm going to try and mostly take the Thumper route on this by simply saying, I always found the wharf to be a visually relaxing area of DCA with the cool blues and browns that are very thematically appropriately earth/water tones.
Now the area is... not visually relaxing. It is very visually busy and very orange.
