Trip Report Our "It's 'Disney' real" June 2016 trip

We're back!!:(:( We had a fantastic time with some not so fantastic moments thrown in, but what trip doesn't have those!

For those of you that haven't read my pre-trip report, here is a quick synopsis:
Who: Me (Amy), my husband Brian, and our kids Logan (13), Lily (11), and Owen (8)
What: 10 day trip with free dining
When: June 2-11, 2016
Where: Caribbean Beach resort

Unfortunately, our flight was set to leave from Columbus at 5:30am. We live in Dayton, which is a little over an hour away from Columbus, so my goal was to leave our house by 3am on Thursday, June 2. We made it!!

Everyone was very excited!

We made it to the airport before the security check even opened! By the time we got our bags checked in to Southwest, we only had to wait a few minutes to get through security.
We were in early boarding group A, so we were on the plane in no time! Still excited!

We got to see the sun coming up once we were in the air.

I found standing at the top of Summit Plummet to be very terrifying!

Nice pics of ToT and stinks you missed the SW fireworks. Great report!
Thanks! Brian was not too fond of being at the top of Summit Plummet either!! But he was not about to let Logan show him up, so he dealt with it! He really liked the actual slide, he just doesn't do well with heights!

Loving your report! I loved your evening Tower of Terror shots. Also, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that doesn't get jazzed about Soarin! It's fine, but I've never felt particularly fond of it like a lot of people do. Also THOSE FISH N CHIPS. Now I'm craving them...October can't come soon enough :hungry:
Thanks! Now I'm craving the fish and chips again, thanks!!:D

We slept in a little bit this day and then had breakfast at CBR. I'm guessing it was the same old, same old, because I have no pics! I did get a few of the scenery on the way to breakfast though!

Then we got changed and headed to Typhoon Lagoon. We again decided to give the buses a chance. We saw this guy on the way to the bus stop:

We didn't have to wait long for a Disney Springs/Typhoon Lagoon bus. Here is a pic as we passed the entrance for TL to get to DS:

My understanding was that you stay on the bus at DS and it takes you to TL. Not this morning! Our driver made us get off!! We found an attendant who was trying to help us and another family figure out why we were made to exit our bus, and find us a way to get to TL. Finally, a bus for Saratoga Springs pulled up, and it was arranged that he would drop us off before going to SS. What a great start to our day!:banghead:
We finally arrived, and as I was taking the next picture, I hear someone asking if I'm getting pics for my trip report. It took me a moment to remember that @BWK05 had mentioned that he would also be at TL that day! It was great to meet another WDWMagic member this trip!!

This time we had to wait in line because they hadn't opened the gates yet.

A few pics while standing in another line to be let in:

The kids insisted on getting chairs on one of the islands in the wave pool, so no shade for us!! And it would have been nice this day to have some!
Brian and Logan went to hit Humunga Kowabunga and were then coming right back so we could do the family raft ride. Lily and Owen wanted to hit the wave pool.

So much better than Blizzard Beach's wave pool!!

We waited forever for Brian and Logan, so Lily and Owen decided to try out the little slides that were right there in the wave pool.

Brian and Logan finally returned. Turns out they decided to do another slide while the lines were short. I think they said it was Mayday falls. That would have been fine, but we had discussed them doing the one slide and coming right back! I was a little ticked off for awhile. Anyhow, we soon left to find Gangplank Falls.

You could only fit 4 people in these rafts, so we had to split up.

I'm so glad they are building a new family raft ride at TL, because we all agreed that the current one is really lame compared to the BB one!!

We got out and made our way back to the chairs to wait for Logan and Brian.

They were waiting for us in the wave pool! They didn't seem too impressed with any of the slides!

Lily and Owen were loving the sand!!

Brian and the kids got back in the wave pool.

I wanted to ride Crush 'n' Gusher, and nobody wanted to go with me. I've already said how I'm not a big water slide fan, so I didn't particularly want to go by myself! (next time I will!!) Instead, I told Brian he was in charge of the kids, and I took off with my camera for some alone time.

I got back, and we let the kids play a little longer in the wave pool.

Brian and I decided it was time for lunch. Then we were going to head back to CBR. Once again, the kids whined about having to leave. Note to self, next time don't plan to go to the parks in the evening when we go to a water park in the morning!! They felt like they needed to play in the water one last time before lunch.

We went to Typhoon Tilly's for lunch. Brian, Logan, and I split 2 orders of fried shrimp, Owen got corn dogs, and Lily got PB&J.

We went to check out the shark reef even though we had no plans to participate.

We had no desire to carry the buckets that lunch came in, so we gave them to a family with 2 young girls as we were leaving. I hope they enjoyed them!
A few pics on the way out:

When we got to the bus stop, a CM asked where we were going. We told him CBR, and he told which bus to get on. The clock said 1:03 when we sat down. The driver insisted on taking us to DS, even though we were the only ones on the bus. Guess they take the 1:00 thing literally.:banghead: Luckily, a CBR bus was at DS when we arrived. We sent Logan running over, and it waited for us!
