Trip Report Our "It's 'Disney' real" June 2016 trip

We're back!!:(:( We had a fantastic time with some not so fantastic moments thrown in, but what trip doesn't have those!

For those of you that haven't read my pre-trip report, here is a quick synopsis:
Who: Me (Amy), my husband Brian, and our kids Logan (13), Lily (11), and Owen (8)
What: 10 day trip with free dining
When: June 2-11, 2016
Where: Caribbean Beach resort

Unfortunately, our flight was set to leave from Columbus at 5:30am. We live in Dayton, which is a little over an hour away from Columbus, so my goal was to leave our house by 3am on Thursday, June 2. We made it!!

Everyone was very excited!

We made it to the airport before the security check even opened! By the time we got our bags checked in to Southwest, we only had to wait a few minutes to get through security.
We were in early boarding group A, so we were on the plane in no time! Still excited!

We got to see the sun coming up once we were in the air.

I actually ended up buying more stuff at the China Pavilion because the things seemed special and different, it was our favorite store there. Oh and I know your pain about not seeing the fireworks! My daughter is very afraid of fireworks due to the loud noise and we always leave before they begin. Making her stay would just ruin her memories of a great park day. And this time there were fireworks, thunder and lightning at the same time, she was petrified .

My favorite store is the Misukoshi Dept. Store at the Japan pavillion. What a lovely store that is with unique merchandise. I always end up buying a few things in there every trip. All price ranges are available as well. One of my favorite items in there are the beautifully decorated chopsticks, and they don't cost much either. I've got a collection now of different ones in various colors and designs, that I've bought over the years. :)

I love that store too, my daughter bought a mini Buddha board there on this visit. I don't know the name of the store over at China but this time we spent more money there than on Misukoshi Dept. Still, both are our favorite stores there!

My dh has quite the chop stick collection from there, every trip I get him a pair and put them in his Christmas stocking.

I woke up early this morning only to hear it raining outside! It wasn't coming down to hard, so I got dressed and ran over to do some laundry. It was pouring by the time I got there! And was still pouring when I had to walk back to the room. Good thing I still needed to take my shower. By the time I showered and got ready, it was time to go back to switch the clothes to the dryer. At least the rain had mostly stopped at that point. Then we headed over to Old Port Royale for breakfast. Not sure what anyone else had, but I had a chocolate croissant again (my favorite Disney breakfast!!).

Brian and I ran to grab the laundry, then we all got ready for today's adventure! We were going to Blizzard Beach for the first time ever!! We debated about whether to try the new bus transportation route or to just use Uber. We decided to use the bus, and call Uber for a ride home if it was too complicated! Luckily, an AK bus came quickly. Once we got to AK, we walked the short distance to the BB stop, and a bus arrived shortly. It appeared that they were arriving on a pretty regular basis, because there was no line when we got there. We arrived to an empty parking lot at Blizzsrd Beach. I guess the rain scared everyone off. They were already allowing people to enter the park when we arrived.

As soon as we were through the gate, a PP photographer grabbed us and got some pics. He made the kids act like they were pulling Brian and I in the sleigh!

Then he had us act like it was cold!

There was nobody around, so we took our time walking in.

We ran into another PP photographer, but I practically had to beg this one to take a picture!!

They had a rope across the main bridge because it wasn't quite 10:00 yet. We were probably 5 or 6 families back, and here is our view back to the entrance:

We watched someone "open" the park by being the first one down Summit Plummet.

Then we found some chairs in the shade (not that this ended up being necessary!!), and talked out our game plan for the morning.

Logan and Brian wanted to ride Sumit Plummet, so we sent them to do that first since there was no line. I can't figure out why they had to ride up the ski lift with a stranger when there was no line, but whatever!! Brian said he was a very nice British gentleman and they had a great conversation.

Lily, Owen, and I stood at the bottom to get pictures. I didn't even think that my waterprooof camera doesn't have very good zoom, and I should have kept my good camera with me for these pictures. Oh well!

Still going up the slope:

Brian is standing at the top, and Logan is on the slide and ready to go:

Logan stuck his arm out, and apparently the CM at the top wasn't very happy that he didn't keep them crossed. He told Brian, "he can't do that!" Like Brian could do something about it right then! I can't believe I caught it on camera:

Brian getting ready to go:

They both loved it and ended up riding again a little later.

I liked Blizzard Beach but, man, too many stairs! :arghh: did you visit Typhoon Lagoon? There was thunder and lightning for the last 3 days we were there and we lost that water park day, so we only ended up visiting BB  Lily and Sebastian is a super cute picture, I wish the PP photographer had done that one for my Gaby!
Yes, we visited Typhoon Lagoon the following day. I love that picture too! It was really random when they would offer Magic Shots and we usually ended up with Tinkerbell, so I was pleasantly surprised when Sebastian showed up!

Then Lily and Owen wanted to hit the wave pool, so we spent a little bit of time there before meeting back up with Brian and Logan.

At this point, it started raining on and off the rest of the morning. It never rained hard, but it definitely made it cooler than it should have been in June!!
Then we all headed back up (we used the stairs this time) to ride Teamboat Springs again. I love the views we had from the top!

We all enjoyed it as much the second time as we had the first!

At this point, everyone was chilly (even though the kids didn't want to admit it!), we had done everything we wanted, and we were getting hungry, so Brian and I decided that we would go get some lunch and use that time to dry off a little before getting on the bus to go back to CBR. The kids were not happy with that decision! But at least they were agreeing that they didn't want to leave!!:D Lily and Owen wanted to show Logan the Ski Patrol Training Camp, so we headed over that way.

There happened to be a PP photographer there and she got these shots of the kids:
