Trip Report Our "It's 'Disney' real" June 2016 trip

We're back!!:(:( We had a fantastic time with some not so fantastic moments thrown in, but what trip doesn't have those!

For those of you that haven't read my pre-trip report, here is a quick synopsis:
Who: Me (Amy), my husband Brian, and our kids Logan (13), Lily (11), and Owen (8)
What: 10 day trip with free dining
When: June 2-11, 2016
Where: Caribbean Beach resort

Unfortunately, our flight was set to leave from Columbus at 5:30am. We live in Dayton, which is a little over an hour away from Columbus, so my goal was to leave our house by 3am on Thursday, June 2. We made it!!

Everyone was very excited!

We made it to the airport before the security check even opened! By the time we got our bags checked in to Southwest, we only had to wait a few minutes to get through security.
We were in early boarding group A, so we were on the plane in no time! Still excited!

We got to see the sun coming up once we were in the air.

The rain let up, and we continued on to Germany.

The kids loved that there were ducks in the train set!

I had to stop in and get a snack or two! I got a bag of caramel popcorn and a milk chocolate caramel with sea salt.

Owen and I shared the caramel right then, and Brian and I munched on the popcorn the rest of the trip.
This is about the time that Brian threatened to go back to the resort and pack up and go home. I really believed that he might do it! Epcot is his favorite park, and the combination of the kids being at each other all afternoon and the rain apparently put him over the edge!:( He went off by himself into the shops for a little while to cool down and the kids and had another little talk. I'm not sure what finally clicked for the kids, but they really were much better behaved for the rest of the trip!!

China was next.Brian rejoined us, and we moved on toward the African Outpost. The rain was pretty steady from that point forward.

Apparently, I didn't take any pics of Norway since we had been there earlier in the day, and no pics of Mexico, because it was sooooo crowded inside because of the rain. We didn't even attempt to ride the Gran Fiesta Tour, we just got our KidCot stamps and left!

We browsed in Mouse Gears for awhile without purchasing anything because I was tired of seeing the same items over and over!!
Then we went to check out the wait times for Joy and Sadness and Baymax. Joy and Sadness were 1+ hours, but Baymax was only 10 minutes, so we got out of our wet outer layers and waited.

He wanted to fist bump all three kids!

I stood for a few moments at the exit to the Joy and Sadness meet. This was as good as I could do:

We made out way over to Spaceship Earth.

We made a quick potty break first. Here is the view from near the lockers by the bathrooms.

Spaceship Earth was a walk on, so we didn't even need to use our FP+. We had the cartoon faces this time through.:(

We still had some time before our dinner ADR, so we stopped in to do the Disney Visa meet and greet. @blgauger ,@Doc Disney , we didn't have Mickey and Goofy!!

We had a little impromptu dance party before leaving (even though it only looks like Owen was dancing!)

The boys stopped to play video games on the way out of the building, but Lily and I weren't interested and kept walking. We came across Snow White with no line!

We had fantastic character interactions! We will definitely be back!
Dessert:

We were physically and emotionally done for the day! I had really been looking forward to seeing Illuminations, so another disappointing end to a day!:(
I did take a few pics on the way out.

I too noticed the same items over and over again! Mouse Gears used to be my favorite store due to it always having different things, but this time it seemed like more of the same. The Kawaii exhibition was cute but I really wish they actually sold all the items in it in the store. My daughter was very excited but then we noticed very few of them were in the store even though they are all currently new things that can be found in other places, like for example Hot Topic. Lovely pics!

I spent way less money this trip than I typically do for that very reason! I only bought three articles of clothing for myself this trip (2 t-shirts and 1 sweatshirt) and all three were from AK, which was the only place that seemed to have any variety! If only the kids had been that particular!!

I actually ended up buying more stuff at the China Pavilion because the things seemed special and different, it was our favorite store there. Oh and I know your pain about not seeing the fireworks! My daughter is very afraid of fireworks due to the loud noise and we always leave before they begin. Making her stay would just ruin her memories of a great park day. And this time there were fireworks, thunder and lightning at the same time, she was petrified .
