Trip Report Our "It's 'Disney' real" June 2016 trip

We're back!!:(:( We had a fantastic time with some not so fantastic moments thrown in, but what trip doesn't have those!

For those of you that haven't read my pre-trip report, here is a quick synopsis:
Who: Me (Amy), my husband Brian, and our kids Logan (13), Lily (11), and Owen (8)
What: 10 day trip with free dining
When: June 2-11, 2016
Where: Caribbean Beach resort

Unfortunately, our flight was set to leave from Columbus at 5:30am. We live in Dayton, which is a little over an hour away from Columbus, so my goal was to leave our house by 3am on Thursday, June 2. We made it!!

Everyone was very excited!

We made it to the airport before the security check even opened! By the time we got our bags checked in to Southwest, we only had to wait a few minutes to get through security.
We were in early boarding group A, so we were on the plane in no time! Still excited!

We got to see the sun coming up once we were in the air.

Next up was lunch. Brian and I decided we wanted fish and chips, and the kids didn't get any choice in the matter!
A few pics on the way:

Then we ran into @Tuvalu and her lovely family!

We had a quick chat, and then we were on our way again to lunch.

We split three meals between the five of us and had plenty to eat.

The view from our table:

The kids had fun in the phone booth (and they were actually getting along at that moment!)!

The kids got a big kick out of these soaps:

They all actually smelled good. My personal favorite was the Beaver Butt!!

The wind had been picking up all morning, and I commented to Brian on our way back to the UK that maybe it would just blow over. Yeah, right!!

When we first entered Canada, Lily and Owen wanted to stop at the KidCot station and get a Duffy. They realized that they could have a CM at every country sign Duffy for them and get a stamp, and ended up having a really good time doing this. Here is what they ended up looking like:

The only problem we had with them was they had to be carried in one of the backpacks because of the rain and it was hard to keep them from getting bent! Not to mention having to get them out and put them back at every country!

Great trip report, love how real it is, no vacation is perfect but in the end those moments become future funny stories to tell! I just got back and got my daughter the passport and she did both the Duffy and the passport and it was cool because they did different things in each one and all of the cast members were very nice and answered all of my daughter's questions about their countries. Oh, and I saw a lot of adults doing KidCot and believe me if I didn't have a daughter I'd still do it for myself, it is fun!

We ended up doing the passports on our second Epcot day, and the kids loved those too!

Oh my gosh, the nostalgia train just ran over me. Getting stamps from all the countries is one of my favorite childhood Disney memories! I'm quite sure my mom still has one of my stamped Duffys from my first Disney trip in my childhood memory box :inlove:.

Glad to see they still do it and that your kids enjoyed it! Great report :D.

We headed back to the UK pavilion.

Everyone had to pose with Tic Toc!

We wandered a little and found the KidCot station. Then Lily and I got in line to meet Mary Poppins. The boys couldn't be bothered, and Brian just wandered some more with them.

Owen showed up just as it was picture time, and Mary insisted he get in the picture!

Then Logan showed up,and she again insisted that another picture was to be taken with all of them.

The line had been cut off behind us and it was starting to sprinkle, so it was nice that she took the extra time with them, as she could have just rushed off for her break!

Notice the umbrellas and ponchos that were starting to come out!

I pulled my umbrella out at that point, just to keep my camera dry! The kids made fun of me, but before too long, Lily and Owen put their sweatshirts on for some protection from it!

It was still just sprinkling when we got to the bridge to France. Lily has recently been fascinated by all things French, but especially anything to do with Paris, so she wanted a picture in front of the Eiffel Tower.

By the time we got all the way over to France, the rain was reaching near monsoon levels! We took shelter and found the KidCot station and purchased a few items for Lily. She got a purple Eiffel Tower statue and a tshirt. She didn't like any of the kids shirts, so we got her an XS adult one that fit her fairly well. I can't believe she is growing up so fast!:arghh:

The rain then slowed to a drizzle, and actually stopped for a short while, so we started to move on.
