It is not good business practice to placate selfish and entitled guests who refuse to take responsibility for themselves
No, we all much prefer watching children cry, because mom dropped their mask in the parking lot on the way in? Much better to send them to spend another 7 bucks on top of the $100 ticket. I for one would be happy if they gave them. Some masks are made with the wrong materials but would still pass to get in, knowing the yahoos had proper masks and no excuses would make me the guest feel much more comfortable.
It's good business to make things go smoothly for a hospitality entertainment company. You could complain about Disney delivering peoples bags to and from the airport, these are all things you could say an individual should be responsible for, but we don't, why? It makes operations easier. This would make operations easier.

All the realities of current times taken in to account and corporate thinking as it is, yes $. At core Disney properties are in the hospitality business. If providing a simple regulation mask to guests alleviates stress and makes a Disney visit more welcoming, well, it would not hurt the bottom line.

Heck wouldn't it make it easier for security, they wouldn't need to inspect as many masks, or get closer to the guests.

Now I’m genuinely curious why you continue to put so much energy into creating new scenarios to take responsibility off the guest and transfer it to Disney. Do you expect every public place you visit to provide you a mask for free, or do you only think Disney should be made responsible?

I don't think he's suggesting that Disney should be made responsible or remove responsibility from the guest at all. Besides, a person needs more than one mask to make it through the day in 90+ degree heat because once they're sweaty, not only do they stink, but they become ineffective. Disney giving 1 free mask per guest would eliminate a lot of hassle and drive home the point that they aren't messing around when it comes to masks.

If people can afford Disney trips, they can afford cheap masks.

Sure can..........but that doesn't change my opinion that Disney is showing poor customer care over cheap disposable masks to give out for situations like the event at Epcot.

In 2018 I hit for the cycle with outstanding customer care at WDW all revolving around my 1 year old daughter:

Animal Kingdom: her shoe broke and CM working Boneyard play area wrote up free shoes..... we picked out Minnie Crocs

Magic Kingdom: free cup venti Starbucks coffee(cashier said daughter was too cute with her Minnie ears to charge us)

Studios: more or less exact same thing as MK.... Free cup of coffee

EPCOT: CM working a souvenir stand very near concert Rocks series gave Daughter an EPCOT style Mickey Mouse stuffed toy with the ubiquitous pattern that showcase CM's were wearing...that reddish orange one.

That is Disney customer care!

Not joking at all - clearly a kind gesture from the CM, but don’t need to accept as it wasn’t the companies fault in any way that our child broke a shoe.

But hey, that was posted from a person thinking Disney should be providing masks as well...
Seems a little harsh to expect a person to turn down the offer. Part of Disney’s business practice is to have CMs surprise people with unexpected extras (pixie dust). I would never ask for something like this, but wouldn’t feel guilty in the least for accepting.

Might be a downer for the CM to hear, “No thanks, it’s not the company’s fault my daughter’s shoe broke” instead of a seeing a big smile and hearing an excited thank you.

You can still give them a big smile and excited thank you and still politely decline. Do it all the time. But if that’s your thing, you can take all the free stuff you can get your hands on, that’s your choice.
There's nothing wrong with accepting a gift from a CM. Stop speaking as if there is...it's just as bad as humble-bragging.

I can see now why you would have such a strong objection to Disney giving out disposable masks . . .

Because water coming out of a faucet will give you Covid-19. Sure, why not.

BTW - the lack of self-awareness in this comment is hysterical. You’re fully OK with traveling to Walt Disney World, being around thousands of strangers, touching countless unsanitary surfaces, but the WATER FOUNTAIN is the death trap!

OMG....
Minimize risks where possible. Drinking water from a spicket that is inches away from other people's mouths (or closer) seems not great?

Uh....but being in close quarters with tens of thousands of strangers breathing in the same space is fantastic. Gotta love the logic.

But I’m sure if you are that frightened of a drinking fountain (yet standing in WDW) I’m sure you will be bringing your own sealed bottle water and not taking the risk of the employees touching the cups or the unsanitary drink fountains.

Or do you just like annoying cast members by having them get you free water and the people waiting in line who are actually trying to purchase something?
You have a lot of feelings about water. I'm not emotionally invested in this conversation.

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.

Wait. Is this the main topic at hand now? Jesus. What is wrong with y’all.

If you’re willing to visit WDW during COVID-19, then drinking from a water fountain is fine.

On the flip side, if you get easily annoyed waiting in line an extra five seconds for someone to get some cups of ice water, then you’re an equal big level of cry-baby.

I like to think of it as "overly critical and judgemental", thank you. ;)

(But seriously, those people really, really suck.)
Do you really let people bother you that much? If I let people getting pixie-dusted or asking for water annoy me, I would spend my entire Disney vacation being upset or angry. I know people have different tolerances, but what you’re talking about seems so minor.

Nah, it’s more of just a nuisance - it’s not nearly as annoying as morbidly obese people plowing through crowds on VW sized scooters or AP’s dragging their children from ride to ride like they are storming the beaches at Normandy. Now THEY are annoying! ;)
You have quite the list there! I’m more of a believer that life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. I hope everyone at Disney stays out of your way 😉
