Disneyland - Timeless River

Replacing the Fantasyland Theatre is Timeless River, an indoor tugboat dark ride, paying tribute to Mickey Mouse's animated history and the Silly Symphonies, travelling through (at first) a black and white world, filled with characters and styles from the 1920s and 1930s Golden Age of Disney, including Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Horace, Clarabelle, Oswald, and Pete. We start with "Steamboat Willie", before going on through sequences from "Plane Crazy", "The Barn Dance", "The Plow Boy", "The Fire Fighters", "Gulliver Mickey", and a spooky sequence that mixes "The Haunted House", "The Skeleton Dance", and "The Mad Doctor" (with a cameo from the rabid Mickey from "Runaway Brain"). Over time, colours begin to flood into the scenery, culminating in a flash of a rainbow, leading to a musical finale based on "Mickey's Revue", "The Band Concert", and finally "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", where the waters get a little wilder until Yen Sid steps in to cease the chaos and send Mickey and the guests home safe.

Bonus - The ride serves as a spiritual successor to Mickey Mouse Revue, with a few nods and melodies from the theatre show.

Disney California Adventure - Train of Thought

A quite literal train ride, similar to Casey Jr., Train of Thought is an Inside Out attraction where guests go for a ride through Riley's subconscious, but ends up taking an unexpected detour through her mind into Imagination Land (which crosses realities with Journey Into Imagination), Abstract Thought, Dream Productions and the scary Subconscious. Joy, Sorrow, Anger, Disgust, and Fear appear throughout the attraction, though Bing Bong would remain absent for obvious reasons (his rocket appearing as a tribute). Plus, the Triple Mint Gum plays throughout, the Imaginary Boyfriend appears, and we even get a glimpse at what "Poo-Berty" is.

Bonus - 1920s San Francisco, with a Chinatown, an Alcatraz area, an earthquake simulator, a Norma Desmond-esque old manorhouse, the red cars, and a Walt Disney Family Museum exhibit.

Shortcut

Join Sadness, Joy, and Bing Bong as they take you on a magical journey through a white room that Bing Bong calls the Shortcut! This new walk through experience, replacing Goofy's Sky School, will make you different shapes, sizes, and even colors using special mirrors created by Imagineers. In the queue of Shortcut, you will be seen a preshow on a small television (similar to the Incredicoaster preshow TV) by the Forgetters, Bobby and Paula, explaining NOT to go in the Shortcut room. But of course nobody listens until Bing Bong and the emotions hop on screen and walk in. Shortcut will surely bring fun to the whole family in every color and shape you become.

CHALLENGE 5: DISNEYLAND
MARY'S JOLLY HOLIDAY
Coming to Fantasyland in 2021, a new Mary Poppins D-ticket classic dark ride will open, immersing the guests in the wonderful world of Mary Poppin's, using practical effects with the moving Manikin style animatronics as the characters and minimal projections, which allows this attraction to fit right in the Fantasyland of Walt's era.

Unlike Walt era dark rides, this ride will be fully trackless and will feature an element of never before seen technology with guests boarding a normal carousel horse on a normal carousel, before using never before scene technology to have the carousel horse come off the carousel into the dark ride portion of the ride.

Similar to how dark rides were in the past, this attraction recreates highlights of the movie rather than fully reshowing the movie for guests, making guests become fully immersed into one of Bert's chalk drawings as you go through the Jolly Holiday scene, with many fan favorite elements including the penguin cafe being shown, as they go on their very own adventure in the chalk drawings with Mary Poppins.

Bonus: In Hong Kong Disneyland, this Mary Poppins attraction opens as a spiritual successor to the popular Peter Pan's Flight attraction, with you flying over London before flying into the Jolly Holiday scene a carousel horse rather than being on ground level.

CHALLENGE 6: DISNEY CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE
IMAGINATIONLAND
Coming to Pixar Pier in 2020, to commemorate the 5th anniversary of Inside Out, a new play zone will open up on a new expansion pad behind The Incredicoaster, taking guests into Imagination Land inside Riley's mind with this full fledge interactive play area.​

Many of guest's favorite parts of the land from the movie would be recreated in here, including Trophy Town, where you can play midway games and everyone wins a prize; French Fry Forest, a fun maze activity where kids can run around and try to find their way through the french fry walls; Lava Pits, where guests can bounce on trampolines over red "lava"; House of Cards, an interactive scavenger hunt where guests can go on an interactive scavenger hunt with Bing Bong; and more.

The centerpiece of the area will be the Memory Palace, which is a giant 3 story play zone with memory pits (ball pits), slides, ziplines, tunnels, nets and more, acting as a centerpiece for the land while also allowing a new experience to replace Redwood Creek Challenge in Grizzly Peak.

Bonus: California Adventure will go through a second major overhaul transforming the park into 10 lands showing the beauty and the history of the state of California: Hollywood, a land recreating the 1920s/30s golden age of Hollywood; Grizzly Airfield, a land taking you into the 1960s golden age of air travel; Turtleback Mountain, a land recreating the 1950s golden age of ski resorts and snow mountains; Grizzly Peak, a land recreating the national parks of California as seen during the 1850 Gold Rush; Superhero Expo, a land recreating the 1940s golden age of comic books; Mystic Point, a land recreating the famous rich mansions of the late-19th century; Valle del Rio, a land showcasing the vast Mexican culture and heritage of California; Route 66, a land immersing you into a 1950s highway while representing the dessert areas; Paradise Pier; a land recreating the ideal golden age of seaside amusement parks; and Big City, a land recreating classic San Francisco in the months prior to the Great Quake of 1906.​

Disneyland - Journey to Mythica

A group of archaeologists find an ancient dragon statue that cracks open and unleashes a baby dragon. This dragon leads the group and the visiting guests through a portal to a magical land full of mythological creatures and gold. But evil pirates loom by trying to get the riches - now the archaeologists have to outrun the pirates and get the riches before the pirates do!
BONUS: This ride has many connections to Journey into Imagination, including the little dragon mascot.

DCA - Yeast of Eden

Angry Dogs will be replaced by Yeast of Eden, the infamous pizza place with the broccoli pizza. But the DCA version will have more than just broccoli, in fact, it has a bunch of toppings to choose from as well as sauces, making this a great place for choosy kids and adventurous tasters alike!
BONUS: The now unfitting paradise park will be replaced by a mini chinatown area with a brand new mulan ride.

I think that Disneyland hasn't really delved into mythology, and this would be a nice addition to Fantasyland. By the looks of it, it seems like this would be tied to SEA somehow. Having dragons lead you through a mystical world is a cute thing, then having pirates come for you adds the extra fluff to the ride.

I'd like to know if there's more backstory, and where this would be located in Fantasyland. Overall, nice job!

Bonus: Although mythology doesn't really touch base with imagination, but you always gotta love Figment! +1

Disney California Adventure could use some pizza, and what better way to do this than to have an IP? I think that incorporating a tiny portion of Inside Out would really add to the park, and to the mini-land. Would this be a buffet or sit-down style? Having it as a buffet would help the "being able to let kids choose" aspect of the restaurant.

Overall, this is something very simple, and something that could, realistically, be done. Nice work!

Bonus: Chinatown is in San Francisco, right? If that's the case, that's nice. +3

THE SWORD IN THE STONE

Disney’s classic film “The Sword in the Stone” comes to life in this magnificent addition to Fantasyland in Disneyland. The story of Arthur, a humble squire nicknamed “Wart” who eventually becomes King of Britain, is portrayed in a series of state-of-the-art animatronic scenes interspersed with high-resolution film sequences and spectacular special effects, all supported by the delightful musical score by the Sherman Brothers and featuring such entertaining characters as Merlin, the brilliant but unusual wizard who knows Arthur’s destiny because he can remember the future, his crotchety but wise-old owl Archimedes and the eccentric, evil witch Madam Mim, who battles Merlin with black magic. Scenes show Merlin transforming Arthur into a bird to learn to fly, a fish to learn to swim and a squirrel to learn about gravity, Merlin battling Madam Mim in a dramatic battle of good magic against dark magic and the climatic final scene showing the boy Arthur pulling the sword from the stone, thus declaring him to be the rightful King of Britain.

BATUU TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM

The “Batuu Transportation System” (inspired by the much-loved-and-missed WEDWay People Mover in Tomorrowland) transports humans, other intelligent species and droids throughout Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, the location featured in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland.

THE INSIDE-OUT/TOU-EDISNI SHOP

The colors of emotions are featured on everything available in the “Inside-Out/Tou-edisnI” Shop in Pixar Pier. “Inside-Out” (for short) features clothing lines for men, women and children inspired by the film, emphasizing the distinctive colors of each emotion (red, blue, green, yellow and purple) along with color-changing coffee mugs, mood rings and home lighting accessories. Visitors to Pixar Pier might enter the Inside-Out Shop feeling a bit blue or even red (when they realized they missed their Fast-Pass time for Guardians of the Galaxy) but will come out feeling yellow with joy.

The historical adventure that is the history of California is presented in the five lands of California Adventure: El Camino Real 1769 (the settlement of California by Spain); Gold Rush Gulch 1849 (the discovery of gold in northern California and how it spurred settlement there): San Francisco 1906 (featuring a dark ride recreation of the legendary earthquake); The City of Angels 1920 (the heyday of the film era and art deco); and Crossroads of the World 1940 (featuring the many cultural enclaves that so many Californian cities contained, including Chinatowns, Little Japans and diverse Hispanic communities).

The sword in the stone is a very underrated Disney movie. I watched this when I was very young, and it got me into the magical powers and beings thing. Transforming it into a ride is something I'd love to see. Using animatronics seems like a good fit, around them could be truly immersive sets or props. Did the Sherman Brothers make songs for Sword in the Stone? Or are you thinking something more classic.

If this were to happen, I feel like it wouldn't be that much of a hit. It's a great movie, but every day it's becoming forgotten, and so I think trying to bring it back isn't the way to go. Overall, this is really neat. Great job!

Bonus: At first I had a hard time figuring this out, but it relates to the WEDway Peoplemover. +1

I feel like when you say lighting accessories, it means that this will be a mini Disney IKEA. Aside from that, having a clothing line specifically for this shop and the movie itself is a great idea. I can imagine the shirts being one color, and nothing too extravagant. Although it's a long name, it would be shortened down, as you said. I'd really like to know how color-changing mugs would work.

While I think it's a great idea, this really sounds more like a traditional home shop. It wouldn't really fit with the pier style that the land has. But, you did a nice job with this!

Bonus: Taking a bonus and turning it into practically a whole proposal is something great. Does this mean that the park would be a timeline? +3

I think this is also a small nod to Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. Creating a Mickey ride in the original park is something that needs to happen. Taking into consideration the Mickey story, the history, would make for a fun ride, taking guests through black-and-white, and then introducing the color.

I realize this isn't just a Mickey ride, but this is also a Fab Five, Pals ride. It also adds characters that are easily forgotten. I really like this proposal, keep it up!

Bonus: This is a great way to, partially, revive an old classic. +1

The Train of Thought scenes are some of my favorite parts in the movie, so bringing it to the land is something that would boost attendance. If we're actually on a train, how would we see the scenes. Are they projections, animatronics? Either would be cool. I can imagine the riders experiencing the same emotions that the characters do as they ride the attraction.

Although this is cool, I feel it would get repetitive. We already have Casey Jr., so adding this would kind of take away from the simplicity of the ride. Also, would this fit where the land is located. Either way, fantastic work!

Bonus: Ooh, I'd like to see the Alcatraz land! +3

Opening Winter 2019​

This is another very cute and funny scene in Inside Out. Bringing it to fruition as an attraction, a walk through, at that, would really lighten up the area, and would bring something fun that the whole family can enjoy. If it's a walk through, though, would you really need a queue. I can understand why there's a pre-show, though.

I would just like to know a little more about what will happen and what you'd see if this actually became a thing. Great job!

A Jolly Holiday themed attraction is one that has popped up a lot as I've seen. Personally, I believe we shouldn't be confined to one scene, but to all of the great parts of the Mary Poppins movie. That's what you do here, you are basically summing up all of the greatest parts of the movie and putting them into a ride. Wonderful!

One thing bugs me though, it isn't original. This has been tossed up so much that if you try to recreate it, someone already came up with that idea. Altogether, you did a wonderful job!

Bonus: I don't think you could ever replace Peter Pan, but you did, and did so wonderfully! +1

Boy oh boy, did you really go all out for this. Adding a whole new play zone would practically be replacing the whole current Inside Out plans. That's not a bad thing, though. Creating mazes is something that needs to be done more often in the Disney parks, and so do midway games. They both may seem cheap, but they can really spice up a park. Scavenger hunts are also one of those things that add so little, yet add so much.

While this is a good idea, I don't thing that having a gargantuan building as a centerpiece would necessarily be a good thing. It would take away the tallness of other buildings in the park. Height problems aside, this is a very well thought out proposal. Fantastic work!

Bonus: All these lands would really add to the park, even if it wasn't a major re-face! +3

Tokyo Disneyland: For this challenge, create a new transportation system that goes around Tokyo Disneyland park. It does not have to replace the train.

Tokyo DisneySEA: For this challenge, create an attraction that can go anywhere. It must, however, utilize a technologically advanced system that you create.

Tokyo Disneyland: If you want to, tie the new system in with an existing attraction in Tokyo Disneyland.

Tokyo DisneySEA: Explain how this new technology could improve one of the opening day attractions at Disneyland in Anaheim.

Create a ride that replaces Nemo and Friends SeaRider. It must include an original idea, not the use of an IP.

Guests can now ride around in tokyo disneyland in one of Cinderella's carriages. See all the sights and sounds of tokyo disneyland in a new magical and elegant way.

All of the ocean's colors have disappeared, it's up to the guests to bring it back! Guests board a submarine with new paintbrush like technology to bring back the colors, all they have to do is point and shoot, and colors are back to the sea! Can guests reach and defeat the evil creature that's sucking out the colors?
BONUS: The paintbrushes will be used in the queue for dumbo for a fun interactive element while guests wait.

We've visited all the American theme parks, it's time to take it to Asia!

-Background Information-
Tokyo Disneyland was the first ever overseas Disneyland. It was an instant hit. When Tokyo DisneySEA opened, it was groundbreaking, breathtaking, it was a new take on how Disney parks would, could, and should look. It was recognized and still is recognized as the best Disney park in the world.

-Challenge-
Tokyo Disneyland: For this challenge, create a new transportation system that goes around Tokyo Disneyland park. It does not have to replace the train.

Tokyo DisneySEA: For this challenge, create an attraction that can go anywhere. It must, however, utilize a technologically advanced system that you create.

-Bonus-
Tokyo Disneyland: If you want to, tie the new system in with an existing attraction in Tokyo Disneyland.
