Welcome travelers, to this permanent world’s fair. Epcot is a place where human achievements are celebrated through imagination, concepts of the future, and world cultures to entertain, inform, and inspire. We hope you enjoy your stay here.

-Background Information-​

Epcot has been struggling in recent years, struggling to find its theme. As the future is becoming a reality and Future World is becoming more of the past world, Disney has decided to revamp the entire park, with a $2.4 billion expansion plan. There are many confirmed changes happening, such as the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster and the Ratatouille dark ride, and many rumored things, including IPs such as MAry Poppins and Coco coming to their respective countries.

-Challenge-​

One of the most heavily rumored things happening in Epcot is a revamp of the Imagination Pavilion. Your challenge is to revamp the Imagination Pavilion, creating something entirely new. And before you bring back the original Journey into Imagination ride, you have to know the rules. There are 2 rules. The first is that whatever you add to the pavilion CAN NOT INCLUDE FIGMENT OR DREAMFINDER and the second is that the pavilion must still revolve around Imagination. But other than that, you can include whatever you want! Simulators, roller coasters, dark rides, whatever! Fully revamp this pavilion without Figment, but keeping the Imagination theme.

You may use between 1 and 3 sentences and up to 1 image. The deadline is Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 8:59pm EST. Critiques will come following.

In addition, a heavily rumored addition to the World Showcase is a pavilion based off of Brazil. Your task is to create a new World Showcase pavilion and introduce one attraction based off of any IP Disney has access to (20th Century Fox, Pixar, Marvel, Pixar, etc.). You must mention both the theme of the pavilion and the IP used in the pavilion’s ride in order to receive full credit (1 point). No partial credit will be given.

Journey into Imagination with Bing Bong

As part of the grand Epcot overhaul, which will inaugurate with the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Infinite Universe in Spring 2021, and Bob Chapek’s effort to make the theme park more timeless and more Disney, Journey into Imagination with Figment will close on Summer 2020, in order to be updated with the characters of Inside Out, however don’t worry about Figment as he’ll be getting a prominent role somewhere else within the park; Journey into Imagination with Bing Bong will open in October 2023!

Bing Bong has been living in the shadows for a long time, as Riley has nearly forgotten him, but when Joy and Sadness enlist him on an adventure to save his favorite girl, he’ll take on the task of helping them, and do whatever is necessary, for them return to the Headquarters, however the path won’t be the easiest one, as in order to reach their destination, he’ll have to guide them through the incredibly complex and unique but dangerous Mindscape.

As Bing Bong guides you through Riley's Mindscape, there will be plenty of knowledge to gather about neuroscience, emotions, and imagination, which are important for understanding the human being; this state of the art attraction will take you through some of the most unique settings of Inside Out like the Abstract Thought, Imagination Land, and Dream Productions, however it will also take you through some never seen before spaces within Riley's Mindscape like Fear Acre Woods, Music and Daydream Circus; if this attraction is too emotional for you, you can find Bing Bong themed tissues available for sale at the Gift Shop!

Bonus:
After the successful addition of Brazil to World Showcase in October 1, 2022; we've come to the decision to add another experience to World Showcase, the India Pavilion, which will be located next to the China Pavilion, will focus on the India's cultural richness, its peaceful way of life, its culinary delicacy, and will be anchored by a Jungle Book themed boat ride, which will use similar technology to the one of Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure; the India Pavilion will open in October 1, 2027!​

A dark ride based on the old 3D movie, travel through the world as seen through the eyes of a child. It begins as the movie did, with scenes of children running through a meadow and looking at clouds, where they imagine different things in the clouds, all to be shown as scenes in the ride: a witch, a lion jumping through a hoop, a flying fish, a clown. And yes, that means the return of the titular song, which was created by no one less than Richard and Robert Sherman.

Bonus: Does the new pavilion have to be different than Brazil?

Imagination: Choose Your Own Adventure!

Enter your own dreamscape with this interactive motion simulator ride! After travelling through an ethereal night time queue, guests don 3D glasses an enter their ride vehicle, where each chair has a touch screen. The first choice guests have to make is the form of their dream host, Sparky (one guest will the basic form, another will choose colour etc.) before setting off on their journey. At each branch point, guests will take it in turns to decide what happens next, creating a slightly different ride each time.

The Bonus
Venezuela becomes the second South American country to be built on the World Showcase next to China, anchored by the beloved 2009 Pixar film Up, a suspended dark ride where Carl, Russell and the guests can learn about the food, culture and people of Venezuela, culminating at the show-stopping Angel Falls, the inspiration for Paradise Falls from the movie.

It doesn't say it has to be different than Brazil!

Bonus: Brazil, true enough, is the newest pavilion and resembles how it had looked at the 1922 Exposição do Centenario do Brasil. In one attraction here, Jose Carioca takes guests - and Donald Duck - on a tour of the Amazon rainforest with some friends of his from the movie "Rio", Spix's Macaws named Blu and Jewel, who are all trying to save their pristine home from the threat of deforestation.

Journey Into Imagination with Bleamfinder and Bligment!

Enjoy an amazing new trackless dark ride that will take over the space of both the current Imagination dark ride and the 4D theater.

Using state of the art practical effects and optical illusions to explore the world of imagination and the many things that have come about as a result of imaginative people such as Movies, TV Shows, Books, Art, Music, Video Games and even new media such as Web videos (including a cameo from the Tim Tracker who shares a mutual mustache based respect with Bleamfinder and Bligment).

Speaking of Bleamfinder and Bligment, they are your new hosts through this attraction who are very clearly not Dreamfinder or Figment as you can see from their fedoras and mustaches.

BONUS

Bulgaria will be added to the World Showcase with an attraction where Scrooge McDuck and the Ducktales gang are there to battle the mythical Lamia, a dragon who will deviate slightly from the classic mythology of the country to feature a purple, pink, and orange color scheme as well as to have powers over dreams.​

The Imaginarium

The entire interior space of the current Imagination Pavilion (including the theater) will be gutted and replaced with a new attraction simply known as The Imaginarium, a trackless ride that will allow guests to travel back in time to "moments and places of grand inspiration and imagination," from the studio of Leonardo da Vinci, to Shakespeare's Globe theatre, to Van Gogh's cottage... even the early WDI labs in California, where guests will learn from these artists as to what made their lives and their work stand out from others. Inspired by these giants of Imagination, the attraction finale will be different every time, as inside each ride vehicle will be a series of touchscreen palletes, where guests can choose from a large number of images, colors and sounds, and will "assemble" their own mini-masterpiece by "throwing" the images magically onto the walls of the 360-degree ride tunnel, essentially creating a unique light and sound experience every time they ride.

On the site of the old Magic Eye Theatre, the Imaginarium Restaurant will rise, offering a spectacular and unique Signature-Dining level creative menu, along with fantastic views of World Showcase lagoon and Illuminations.

In World Showcase, the next new pavilion will salute the culture of Greece, with an IMAX-sized film tour of the country's beautiful locations with your hosts, Calliope, the Muse of Epics (and her associates) from Disney's Hercules.
