Hubby and I have been having the same discussion regarding our excursions, etc... In the end, we decided that for this particular trip, since it is only 3 days, we are going to spend most of our Nassau day on the boat just enjoying the views and amenities offered by that big old beautiful boat. There is so much I want to see and do on the boat that I don't think I will miss the Nassau excursions....at least not on this trip. We will definitely be spending the day off the boat at Castaway Cay in Serenity Bay. I looked at the private Cabanas, but alas they are all booked. Probably a sign that I don't need to spend that kind of money for a single day of lounging in privacy. Especially since I have already splurged on a room upgrade for our post cruise stay at the Wilderness as well as two nights party tickets for MNSSHP. Guess I'll just have to lather on the sunscreen and suffer with the rest of the masses on the beach. LOL...
We opted to stay at the Airport Hyatt for the night before our transfer/check in. I am nervous about the transfer, but that is more due to the fact that I tend to worry about things way more than I need to. If I have learned anything about Disney it is that they really do make getting from point A to point B a relatively simple process, so I should stop worrying and just go with the flow knowing that everything will be a-ok.
Can't wait to read your trip report. It will be interesting to hear your take on Palo vs. sticking with the traditional dining options (yet another big discussion for me and my hubby). Plus, I can't wait to hear all about your private cabana. I am super super envious of that splurge but also super super happy for you.

Yeah! I read that comment to the old man and he said, "I need to sign up so I can come reply to that guy. All I'd say is: you obviously don't know my wife very well...nothing for the porthole characters to worry about whatsoever...." Men! Sheesh! ROFLOL!
I'm glad to know and think Mickey spilling the beans couldn't be beat. Like I said, I suspected he was going to do something. He asked me weird questions about how I knew how to do stuff a few times. My response was, "All you do is get in touch with Tammy. She can do anything." Looks like he listened. I sure am glad he did! When I got the call I was shocked. I thought he was trying to start the ball rolling. I didn't know he had booked and we had the confirmation! So then I had the fun of doing the online check-in...and playing with activities/dining...

So, initially Tracey (& Tammy ) had us booked to do Atlantis Aquaventure again in Nassau, Palo on Nassau night, and Remy on CC night. They booked that stuff because on first thought that's what I said I'd wish to do. But then I thought about it more (scary) and I didn't feel so sure. We've done the Aquaventure before. If we did it without the kids we'd prob'ly float on the river the bulk of the time there. That's a lot of money for river floating. Then I thought about the ship and how much there was on the ship that we hadn't done before and really wanted to. If we were gonna spend a day on the ship to explore I'd rather it was on Nassau day than CC day. So I cancelled the Aquaventure. Then I started looking at the private cabanas on CC. How dreamy are those??? I mean, if a non-beach person whose biggest beach aversion is the sand that you can't escape spots a semi-sand-free haven, would that not be the thing to do??? Still, the cabanas are 'spensive as all heck. The savings from cancelling the Aquaventure didn't quite cover the cost. But then I started looking at the Palo & Remy menus. **sigh** Palo's appeals more than Remy's to both of us. If we don't have Remy, the old man doesn't have to pack a sport coat either. Nixing Remy saves another $150. Yeah, that wasn't a hard decision at all. So, our current list of things we're scheduled to do are:
Day 2: Palo dinner @ 8
Day 3: Serenity Bay Cabana
Mmmmm....can't wait!
I cannot believe it!!!! I just got a phone call from...guess who???? Mickey!!!! He said he was gonna see me real soon...in the Bahamas!!!! My Sweetness has been working a little covert operation with a little cruise fairy I know ((**wink wink** I soooo love yooouuuu)) to surprise me for our upcoming anniversary in September. It's only a little 3 day cruise for just the two of us sailing on the Dream on 9/27. It's tough for him to get away from work for longer right now. I'm so pumped I can't stand it! We're flying, not driving this time. And I can't waaaaaiit! Oh my! I can't wait to loggin to our reservation ASAP so I can start booking some dining and stuff. How sweet is my old man?!?! **sigh** I sooooo picked good....Mom & Dad were sooooo wrong about him..... LOL! Oooooh, and he just informed me we have a magic porthole room. I know, how crazy am I for being this excited over a magic porthole but it's not something I'd dare book when the boys are along so I'm pumped for the special-ness of it!
Oh I can't stand it!!!!! Time to hit the diet extra-super-hard!!!!!
I guess I should really program Tammy's number in my husband's cell just in case....it can't hurt, right
We should send out mass emails to all the girls' significant others that has a link to this thread. They can get Tammy's email from her signature. LOL!
So, the lesson to be learned here is marry someone your parents don't approve of who supports your Disney loving tendencies and befriends travel agents?
PS: EEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Well...yes!
But, I don't think my parents would've approved of me marrying anybody I'd only known for 4 months at just 19 years old. I don't think when we got married either one of us had any clue about the Disney adoration. That revived in me after our boys were born. Tracey & I had a long weekend getaway to WDW in 10/1999. His mom kept the boys who were just 2 & 3 at the time. The whole way thru, planning until we drove on-property, Tracey kept saying: "I don't see what the big deal is. I went to Disneyland when I was a kid. It's not as big a deal as you make it out to be." Then we drove on-property, parked at Epcot, and walked up to the turnstiles. From the car to the gates he kept saying, "Oh my God. This is huge. This is amazing." Stuff like that. He's been just as crazy about it as me ever since. We didn't get to take the boys for a few more years but when we did it took our Disney love to a whole new level. And the rest is history!
So, yeah. Follow your heart...although I don't necessarily recommend marrying someone you've only known 4 months when you're just 19. I think I'm a combination of extremely lucky and too stubborn to ever throw in the towel.
Whoa girl, that is quite the history in a nut shell, I must say! BUT the recommendation has already been beaten since I'm 22 and I've been dating Andrew for almost a year and a half. So I'm good to go, right? I assume that Andrew will embrace - he is a kid at heart, I just need to GET HIM THERE. Darn school, expenses, and lack of a stable job for me to save the cashflow. That being said, I'm getting there.
Hubby & I met in October, he proposed for Christmas, and we were married in July, 9 months after our first date. This year was our 33rd anniversary. Of course, I was 22 and he was 23 and we both had decent jobs, but sometimes it just happens and you know, yep, this is the one. Of course, he's not the Disney fanatic that I am, but he is willing to help finance my addiction, so I'm keeping him for another 30 years or so!
