Old MGM videos starring YOU!

On my first trip to WDW I was 5 years old. This was way back in 1989 (nearly 20 years ago, YIKES!) and there used to be a section of MGM Studios where you would star in a mini-movie. There were themes, like sci-fi, westerns, and gangster movies. I have an old VHS with me back in 1989 starring in one of these movies, but I can't find it right now. Once I do I'll load it up to youtube, but until then, does anyone remember these videos?

I do have a video I made at Universal Studios starring my family in Star Trek which I've foud and uploaded here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhDsDNg0mAo

I miss these types of things, where you specifically starred in your own little movie. Does anyone else have videos like this they would like to share?

Yep - Pacific Electric Pictures, replaced by Celebrity 5 to 10 on Hollywood Blvd. Back in the innocent days before home video and computers made it easy for anyone to do :)

lol great video.

I miss those days.

I remember back in 1997 my cousins and I making a video with the dream finder when you exited of the original JIYI. We had to run in place and we had fire that came from our shoes and had us fly into space. We also did some at Epcot with David Letterman and another one we were in Saved by the Bell

Where was this located exactly?

I can not, for the life of me, remember...

It was on the west side of Hollywood Blvd (right hand side as you enter) - at the far end of the block, next to Theatre of the Stars. This all changed in `94 when Sunset opened.

Wow, I remember that, it was Jay Leno and a sports segment with Ahmad Rashad, but the best was by far the Saved by the Bell 'the new Class' one, where Screech and Belding interviewed you to go to Bayside. My friend and I had so much fun doing those all afternoon. Slow turnaround tho as a free exhibit, 10 people in a line was well over an hour of waiting, so I can see why they don't do those anymore.

Superstar Studios was on Pleasure Island, at the west end of the 8Trax building. Good times indeed....

Martin for someone who lives across the ocean from WDW if it were not for you, I would not know about half the things that no longer are around in the parks. Keep up the lords work (that is saying if Walt was the lord.....not saying that he is...but also not saying he isn't)

Was this similiar to the make your own movie in the Imagination Pavilion?

I don't remember the one at MGM, but my sister and I spent many a time starring in Dreamfinder's films!

Video killed the radio star.

What killed the video star? C and D celebs acting like idiots on "reality" shows.

RIP classic MTV.

And classic Disney Channel.

And early 2000's Cartoon Network.

The only good shows on TV now are Mythbusters, Good Eats with Alton Brown, and Top Gear.
