Planning for a real "zombie" apocalypse is not as much fun as an imaginary one - it's pretty scary. Not to go into detail, but we have offered sanctuary to a young woman who is being actively stalked.

That is terrifying. I gets me so frustrated to hear stories of people who try to go to the police but they can't do something unless something happens - but if something happens it could be too late. I hope everything is OK.

We bought new bedroom furniture and a dining room set yesterday. Is it wrong that as I was signing the credit card receipt I was calculating the Disney Reward dollars in my head?

No, but if you called and booked your next trip before leaving the store, it might be.

She can't get a restraining order (holiday) but we all know that they are not always effective.

We are especially concerned because the daughter of a former colleague was killed by a stalker (actually, someone she declined to date). She (according to friends after the fact) did not tell her parents or the police because she didn't think he was dangerous - just annoying in his persistence.

This young woman is the same age as my daughter, and I would hope that someone would offer her help if she were in a similar situation - new town, no family or friends nearby.

Has she contacted the police(although you're right, sometimes that doesn't help either)? If that were my daughter going through that I'd be a wreck! (but an armed wreck)

That is sweet but I am terrified of heights!!! I thought of getting him a fly-along in a WWII fighter jet but I chickened out - he would love it but I would be a nervous wreck!!!!
how about a ride along at Richard Petty's driving experience at WDW

I though of that once before but didn't go through with it - there's actually one in the Poconos which is not that far from my house. I need to look into it again - he's into NASCAR and would probably love it.

EDIT: I checkd it out - it's not available at the Poconos Speedway but that's not actually the biggest problem - in reading the description I realized (embarassingly enough) hubby doesn't know how to drive stick!!

Yes - but she feels that someone there is leaking info about her. The stalker has bragged about all of his connections in the local PD. We are currently using all of ours to find out is going on. She is still in her apartment, but we will move her, if need be...even if one of our "friends" has to go with us and we have to do a transfer. I told my husband one way to do it, so she may be willing to try tomorrow.

She will be a lot safer here. We have a lot of nosy neighbors who would notice anybody "new" and we have secret ways to get around. Plus, most of us are armed.

My daughter usually gets a "whoa, cool" from guys when they learn that she's ONLY driven a stick - so far. I got my first automatic when I was over 40.

I learned on one - but that was over 20 years ago (I learned to drive when I was 8 ;) ) - I don't think I would remember. These ride-alongs are way too expensive to have him stuck in neutral for 8 laps (although I suppose that's one way to get your money's worth time-wise!)
