I love how when people on these boards can't think of a more compelling argument, they resort to personal insults.

For the record, I've never claimed to know that it was intentional. However I do believe very strongly that it was, because it seems so blatant. The poster I was responding to made the statement that "no double entrendre was intended" and I was simply asking him to explain how he can possibly be sure of what someone else's "intentions" could be.
Right... intentional. Just like Disney ok'd to sell a phallus in Epcot, or the on the cover of the little mermaid, or the abbreviation MILF at the Magic Kingdom, or the racism in Song of the South, or the drug use references in Alice in Wonderland

Disney is a bunch of bad people. They're worse than the Westboro Baptist Church and the Aryan Nation combined.

They're bad! BAD BAD BAD!

Disney is bad!

Go away troll.

How do you know? It's not like Disney, or the artist who designed the t shirt, are going to say, "Hey check out this subliminal sexual message we put on this t shirt."
Did you know that Paul McCartney died in a car wreck and the man we know as Paul McCartney is actually a coy.

And it's all Disney's fault.

I find the username mickster to be offensive towards the Irish.

I'm sure if it were a Universal t-shirt, a lot more people on this thread would suddenly see it and agree it was obscene.

And I am sure that just because it is an EE shirt you see it and are arguing that it is intentional. Perhaps you should start your own EE website where you can crtique it all day long.

ooooh ya ... now i see a woman... but it is only her head ... the middle peak is her nose , you are right that is horrible, offensive and cruel to make fun of ugly women with exceedingly large noses.

people when you make something abstract as this image is ,you leave it open to interpretation and the viewer's imagination.

sigh next they will be complaining about the flower and garden festival stuff a la georgia okeefe :brick:

Heh. Nice try Tex, it says "Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain" on a stamp-like image on the back corner of the shirt. It figures the same poster who brought us "I hate expedition everest..." and "if you like everest, don't read this thread" would say they intended to make a dirty T-Shirt. The same company who refuses to release "Song of the South", wanted to create a racy T-Shirt for their new $120 Million dollar attraction.

How does that make sense?

It makes sense in a "not-making-sense" kind of way, I guess.
Nothing against you my friend, I just think you kind of need to drop your everest bashing. (And I know, "How do you consider that bashing?". Just take this as some friendly advice, from one who knows.)

Hmmmm...Interesting that you chose to quote me, but you left out the part where I ask what is on the back of the shirt, and whether it includes an advertisement that identifies it as one for Everest. Here is my ACTUAL post:

What's on the back of the shirt? Is there anything indicating that it's an advertisement for EE or that it's Disney? Based solely on the picture, I actually think that it seems to be intentionally a double entendre of sorts. For one thing, the silhouette looks nothing like Everest and it seems like the only purpose of making the lines the shape they are, is to make people think it's a picture of a girl. Also, the phrase, "Scream like a girl" isn't one that I've seen anywhere else in reference to this ride. And then lastly, if there's nothing on the other side of the shirt to indicate that it's Disney or that it's an ad for Everest, then I would definitely say it was intentionally racy. I think the artist, and whoever approved it for that matter, knew exactly what they were doing. I can't see how they couldn't have.

I love how you omitted my first two questions when you quoted me. Clearly, this shows that I'm not being closed minded and making assumptions, which is probably why you omitted that part.

As far as my other threads on Everest, might I suggest you listen to the classic Eagles' song titled, "Get Over It". Why must you obsess over other threads that have nothing to do with this one? Seems a little odd. :lookaroun

However, stating that "But I think it's pretty obvious the message and image were intentional" comes close to saying you believe it to be so.

I'm making no claims whatsoever that I do not "believe it to be so". Quite the opposite. I've stated very clearly that I believe there is a very good chance it was intentional. The poster I was responding to stated, plain and simple, that it was "not intentional" and I asked how he knew. For all I know, maybe he is good friend's with the artist and that artist has denied it (which still wouldn't be proof, but at least it would provide a basis for making that statement as fact). If you were to ask me how I know that it WAS intentional, I would tell you, "I don't. I just believe very strongly that it probably was." So you're not catching me on anything by pointing out that I "come close to saying I believe it to be so." I'm telling you, straight out, that I believe that.

Every t-shirt produced has to go through the legal department. This one got through, so the legal dept didn't think it was offensive. End of discussion.

Unfortunately, the problem with this assurance that the legal department has given it their blessing, is not very assuring for a couple of reasons:

1. Whether it's intentionally racy or not, there's nothing illegal about it. So why would the legal department care if it had a racy message? They would be looking for things like copyright violations, etc.

2. We all know there have been other times where racy imagery has made it into Disney films and other products. Case in point, the nude woman in the window in The Rescuers.

I believe that Mary Magdalene and Jesus were married and had a child, Sarah, whom was taken to hiding in Gaul (France) after the crucifixion.

Just because I believe it doesn't mean it's right in the eyes of the masses

The legal department also checks for any offensive material ... to prevent things like that from happening again. It's not just about legal/illegal. The object of the legal department is, among other things, to avoid law suits against the company. You're right, there is nothing illegal about it, but if it was offensive, I'm sure someone would have brought it up through the many people that had to approve it.

Word is that the success of this one has Disney looking at more "nudge nudge wink wink" T-shirt designs.

Next up: Splash Mountain's "are you wet yet?" to be followed by PotC's "What the buc are you staring at?"

The AC went out at my office on fridaym, one of the russian interns we have is a rather attractive female... who is a very strict Orthodox Christian and a bit naive to boot. But she's very nice and very smart.

However, English wasn't her first... or second... or third.. or fourth, but rather her fifth language. (Russian, Ukranian, German, and Polish were 1-4).

When my boss came to my office, he asked her how she's doing. She innocently replies with "I'm hot and wet."

My boss walked out of the office with a red face trying not to laugh

I had to explain to her what it meant while trying to maintain a straight face. I also explained that she should have said that it was warm and she was sweating.

Misunderstandings are great :)

Now excuse me while I turn on the AC. I'm hot and wet :lookaroun

Well, I believe that they either missed this one, or they were fine with it because it's obscure and, let's face it, "racy" sells!

How about Tow Mater going to get some day labor at Home Depot at 5am.. is that racy enough?

What about if I were to take Sally Carrera and strip her down to her bare chassis, check her throttle linkage, make sure her fuel injectors are squirting, and that all of her fluids are topped off.

God I'm hot and wet still.

You have to be kidding.
The only reason you think it looks like a girl is because someone else said it did....and in case your wondering, it does not.
Sell it on ebay, someone will buy it.

My mind is permanently in the gutter and I see no such thing.

I think some people just my find the "scream like a girl" slogan offensive. These are the same people that want the women chasing the pirates in PotC...
