What's that quote? "It's almost as though we should feel grateful that Walt Disney chose Anaheim"?"We're continuing to work with the industry, and, by the way, amusement parks aren't just Disney."

They have guidelines they can release at any moment. Disney has asked them not to, because Disney believes they are still up for negotiation. The Governor acquiesced to their request NOT to push the guidelines.

I mean if you really wanted him to I'm sure he'd rather just come out and say, "Disney told us not to release the guidelines, so go ask them why they don't want to reopen their theme parks".I appreciate your positivity, but to me this feels like more spin than a perpetual unending ride on Mad Tea Party. Only in the aftermath, the businesses on Harbor are left holding the puke bucket.
That is not even factually accurate. All of the theme parks in California, through their industry trade group, asked the Governor to not release the guidelines once they finally got a peek at them the day before.
If the Guidelines are basically...
That's not much of a guideline. That's basically just telling this industry to go kill themselves and go bankrupt, then sell their destroyed theme park properties to apartment developers later in '21.
- Stay Closed Until 2021
- Then Reopen In 2021 at 25% Of Your Design Capacity
- Reopen at 100% Of Your Design Capacity Only Once 99% of Californians Receive Covid Vaccine in 2022
Given the number of people that say they won't get a vaccine, this one seems unreasonable if remotely true:All of the theme parks in California, through their industry trade group, asked the Governor to not release the guidelines once they finally got a peek at them the day before.

Parts of the state must be really bummed that resolution to become like 7 states didn’t go through a few years back. Guess this is the year it should have been on the ballot!Imagine if Orange County, San Diego and other parts of inland California became it's own state?
We're continuing to work with the industry, and, by the way, amusement parks aren't just Disney
Yep, they really should all be looking for other jobs at this point. It will reopen and if they want to apply again, I'm sure there will be some opportunities. Disney may already have a giant HR file where they reach out to former employees when the opportunity to hire presents itself. If not, there will likely be a whole new crop of young kids ready to dip their toes in the Disney pool.I would suggest everyone who is currently furloughed by Disneyland to abandon that sinking ship like First Class Women on the Titanic.
That is not even factually accurate.
That is my point, there are no official guidelines yet. So what you stated is not even close to being factually accurate. Can you prove that? What are the guidelines for reopening California theme parks?

Or it could be that the guidelines didn't allow them to reopen immediately so they complained. Point is we don't know, so it doesn't do anyone any good for you put out unfounded claims. But we just don't know.
What we do know is that the guidelines were shown to the theme park industry the day before they were to be released, and the industry found the guidelines so restrictive and so impossible to meet that they publicly asked the Governor to not release those guidelines without more discussion and a chance to loosen them.
Those must have been some darn scary guidelines to elicit that type of response!

This guy could see a dead body wash up on the beach with giant teeth marks and say "we don't know he was killed by a shark. We just don't know."
Speaking of the Covid vaccine, yesterday the state health director announced that California will not release the Covid vaccine approved by the FDA to Californians until they have studied it themselves and given it the "California stamp of approval".
“We plan to have a team of experts review the findings so we can put the California stamp of approval on it before we really roll it out across the state.” -Dr. Ghaly, California Director of Health & Human Services
So there will be an additional delay from other states in having the Covid vaccine available to Californians. I can just see the big Las Vegas casinos running a promotion for Californians this winter...
