I heard he's having the secret service go in early that day and get fast passes.

Me too! Well, IoA anyways.Glad I will be heading to Universal for the morning/afternoon that day...
Wow. So day guests will not have the walk up Main Street? Why MK to give a speech? Why inconvenience or chance adversely impacting that many peoples' days to give a speech? Aren't there spaces designated for White House events at the White House? If its that important why not do what the rest of the world does and host an after-hours event? This isn't just frustration at the flagrant wasting of taxpayers money when the government already operates sooooo far in the red, why does WDW even entertain this in this manner? I'd be far more impressed if the powers that be held the stupid government party planners to the same guidelines every other guest or company is held to. I think the lengths they are going to are far too disruptive to normal operations to justify in any way. The whole thing is flat out stupid.
Main Street, USA will be open in enough time for the parade to run at 3:30. Day Guests will still get to walk on Main Street that day.
But the guests who planned a year ago to arrive after breakfast at say 10:30 a.m. will not get the benefit of the show as it was intended upon entering the park. Weddings & other private events are not allowed to disrupt normal park hours or operations. Why this?

I don't think anyone says no to the President.
The speech is about tourism to the USA, so the location is really important.

I think that's a safe assumption. Especially when your CEO has political aspirations.
If you're going now and you're the "once in a lifetime" guest, you'd probably be more irritated that BTMRR & Dumbo are closed than the fact that President Obama is giving a speech on Main Street. Plus, let's not pretend like if you complained to Disney they wouldn't work with you to give you an alternate day to show up or to reschedule your character breakfast. Disney wants to ________ off as few people as possible.
I'm surprised people are so up in arms over this, seems like TDO actually thought this one through with their offerings at other parks.

That's because they aren't asking the right people. :animwink:
Who are "the right people" who would say no to the freaking PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES?
Let's not get political.
