That alone, I have lost all respect for you.

EVERY SINGLE DISNEY RIDE HAS HAD CONTRACT WORK WITH THE RIDE SYSTEM.

Arrow did the HM ride system and POTC, Vekoma BTM and Everest, and ETC M:S.

Please, as someone in college working towards engineering and a theme park buff, you have no idea what you are talking about, and please stop making false, idiotic statements.

That's it, you ruined my evening.. You lost respect for me
Isn't there a reason work gets contracted out??? So the people who know how to build certain ride features actually build those features??? How am I making an idiotic statement???

Obviously no one here listens to music at all.
Obviously. I guess I'm too busy being a "die hard" Disney fan-boy, bullying people with my golden opinions that I pretend to be facts while I sit in my room worshiping my poster of Michael Eisner and watching my video of Stitch's Great Escape on my computer screen where I do my armchair imagineering creating large run-on sentences that hardly describe me at all..

This thread is like having our own personal Neal Boortzs/Rush Limbaughs/Al Frankens/Bill O'Reillys on these boards... everyone is getting attacked for attacking or failing to attack M:S and/or the dead guest.

EDIT: Complete with the constant and incredibly annoying mention of how everyone has an evil, secret agenda...

Ohhh, ohhhh...which one am I????

BTW, I never said the agendas were evil or secret.

ok pete: when the next person dies on the ride..then what...what will be your defense then?
If the ride is determined to be at fault I will have no defense. So far there has not been one time where a person has died on Mission: Space where the ride was determined to be at fault. I will blame the ride when there is actually a reason to blame the ride.

I haven't had a single problem figuring anything out. ;)

My first several posts in this thread placed ZERO blame.... not on the lady and not on Disney. I didn't have an opinion on cause and asked that everyone withhold charges of guilt of either party. I've not attempted to coerce anyone to change their opinion other than asking them to calm down and to not jump to any conclusions. I've tried to be reasonable and I've attempted to ignore many baseless claims. However, at some point it should come to an end.

And i have respect for you and enjoy reading your posts because I tend to agree with you... And I agree, enough with the fighting.. We are not getting anywhere... no one is right or wrong cause these are our opinions...

Yes, you are right. They also contract out so they don't have to hire specalists. But to imagine that engineers in Imagineering didn't know the ideas and concepts behind centerfuges and that they couldn't build one is idiotic. Disney has more ride expericne than ETC does, and many other companies. The reason why ETC was contacted was to speed up the development time by using people who have built such systems in the past and have developed other entertainment centerfuges.

Just because Vekoma built a Disney coaster doesn't mean that WDI can't build one themselves or understand the concepts behind it.

Ok, that is fine.. but Disney may have more experience with ride, ETC has more experience with centerfuges, according to that article... Whatever though... No one here will seem to agree.. other than to disagree lol..

He had a heart condition that was aggravated by the stress of this ride...

He had a heart condition. His heart condition is what killed him not the ride. The doctor even publicly stated that people with his type of condition are at risk of dying with everything they do. He could have just as easily died while riding his bike to school or on the drop in POTC.

Very true! In addition, didn't someone die a couple of years ago on BTMRR in DL? And it was determined to be a problem with the ride. AND, it's still operating.

So, if after the investigation and they determine M:S is the cause, there's precedence to not close it down. Also, other parks have reopened rides where deaths occurred. So, continually calling for the closure of the ride seems a little fruitless at this point.

Take your pick... I am still trying to make up my mind as well.

And yes, your agenda of claiming not to have an evil, secret agenda is inherently evil in itself.

And now for something completely different.

First of all I feel terrible for her family!

(Sorry if this has been covered I can't/haven't read the whole thread yet?)

Second of all not to make light of the situation but how many people do you think have passed away after overexerting themselves at an amusement park in the last 20 years or so....1000?...10,000?....100,000?

I bet it's more than we'd imagine!

btw who told the media she was even on M:S the day before she died? and that she was dizzy etc? did her family call the Sentinel the night she died?

what did they do after M:S? (the infamous World Showcase death march is much more deadly than M:S IMO!)

something's not right here!

But I think one thing that might hurt M:S compared to BTTM is that unless you are a fan or have been on it before, you really don't know what you're in store for going in. You can pretty much see what BTTM is before you ride. You can't really describe M:S and THAT paired with the media coverage (My friends asked me about it today at school and they wouldn't know anything about the attraction except for this) might cause some changes. But I hope not.
