It should not.

It should be a purpose built ride system that can handle 2600-3000 guests per hour in an area suitable for it.

Gasp! You don't say? The biggest IP that Disney Animation has had in 20 years and they shoehorn it into an attraction with an hourly capacity of what??? A thousand an hour?

What could go wrong?

I'm going to end up waiting in this line too. I have two little Frozen obsessed little girls.

One acronym and some math. FP+. 60+10. Who really wants to waste their tier 1 FP on something with a short line like Test Track or Soarin anyway?

The other HUGE issue is that we all know what a juggernaut Frozen is and how popular this attraction will be regardless of where it is in property or even how good a ride it may be. Re-using Maelstrom's infrastructure only allows for 900-1200 guests per hour. That's Toy Story Mania level and that's a HUGE problem. A D/E-ticket Frozen ride (which Frozen fans will make this into) needs 1600-2000 guests per hour. They are solving the capacity issues at Soarin' and Toy Story by adding a third theater and track and then creating a much worse capacity issue in Norway.
If they modify the boats to a double decker configuration, they'd be able to serve 1800 to 2400 guests per hour. They seem to have room for the higher boats and the existing track layout could handle the extra weight. They might alter the loading pattern so that heavy set people would be required to be seated on the lower level (to keep the center of gravity low) while short people and people of less girth would be seated on the upper deck.

They could build scales into the queue that would automatically separate guests into weight/height groups that would be suitable for each deck level.

What about if they remove the boats altogether and just release guests into the trough with life preservers. 3000 guests per hour EASY.

Two things: 1. Animatronics. That is a MAJOR plus. 2. I honestly think the Norway addition/Sommerhaus looks gorgeous. And those Maelstrom-esque stones with the carvings on them in the foreground are fantastic. At least from the art (of the pavilion) it looks pure Norway. The interior? Different story. The ride does look super pretty, though.

I agree with you, and I am pleased with what Kathy had to say, Im a little more confident with her overseeing the project, and stressing the importance of Norwegian culture and design....as much as I still hate that title frozen ever after.

I am truly sorry, but, to me, this is like biting into a beautifully glazed chocolate frosted donut only to find that it is filled with hummus. Yes, Imagineers are honoring the heritage and history of Norway, but the exterior does not match the interior. Guests of World Showcase are still being transported to Arendelle. I have said it before and I will say it again, I do not know why Anna and Elsa are not ambassadors of Norway, touring its notable areas and landmarks.
