Trip Report No rain, no lines, no crowds, no ADR's, no fastpasses, lots of fun and pool time.

OK, so I am starting my very first trip report. We went Sept. 7-15 and stayed offsite the first night then 7 nights in a one bedroom at Bay Lake Tower. This was an anniversary trip...she has tolerated me for 31 years of marriage now...something that still amazes me.
The first day we arrived around lunch time after driving through masses of lovebugs. We got there during what I understand is the beginning of the fall lovebug season. Wife's new car, white with lots of front bumper space, was covered in the little pains in the you-know-what. We stopped at a couple of gas stations just to top off the tank and try to clean them off a bit (felt we should add a bit of gas since we were using their window cleaner and water and paper towels).
Arrived at DTD, which has become our traditional first stop, and enjoyed the afternoon. Later went to the offsite room, checked in, freshened up a bit then back to DTD for the evening.
Ate at Earl of Sandwich a couple of times on this trip. Walked around, did some shopping, looked at the construction, or I should say at this point construction preparation and deconstruction, and back to the room early after a long day.

The cast of characters for this trip are Mr. and Mrs. epcotisbest, seen here at Epcot last Wednesday with a couple of other suspicious looking characters:

We are hopeful for the changes coming to DTD, but hope it does not become too much of a shopping mall. Time will tell.
We like Rainforest Cafe and saw the remodeled volcano for the first time. It seems to me a company that talks about the environment a lot is not very environmentally friendly with all the gas used in the eruptions...just sayin'.

We have gone to WDW and not carried a camera, we have so many pics already, but decided to take my wife's little Canon point and shoot this trip. Left the Nikon DSLR at home. Quit carrying it a long time ago. The Canon did OK.

Plenty more to come, a little at a time.

Well I'm not so much a couch potato any more, thanks to encouragement from highly motivational, inspirational people...maybe couch tater tot or tater chip...no not yet a tater tot...still a long way to go.

It was hot and humid...but we live in GA and are kinda used to hot and humid. Sorry our paths did not cross.
Being crowd phobic we avoided the Villians thing at DHS Friday, but heard it was packed. I hope you got there before the traffic got real bad trying to get in. I heard some people at the pool say buses were backed up all the way out to the road heading in and the lines for the characters was so long you did not even know who you were getting in line for.
Oh, so how was the girl's cruise....looking forward to a TR from that one. My wife mentioned she might like to do that some time.

Girls cruise was FANTASTIC. I have only one regret, and that's that I never tracked down @DisneyDebNJ so we could meet. :( There is definitely talk of doing it again, would love to have Mrs. Epcotisbest join the fun! There's also talk of not limiting the next one to girls, so maybe you both could come!

I was staying at Boardwalk on Friday night, so just walked into the Villains thing. While on the pathway to DHS, I could see the buses stacked up waiting to get in. Awful for anyone stuck there. Met up with one of our group who was staying at Coronado--took her two hours to get to DHS on Disney bus. Others were in line for characters for 3 hours. I didn't bother with that, just enjoyed what I could of the stage show, and the fireworks, which was the absolute best fireworks show I've ever seen.

The Canon point & shoot is doing a fine job. ;) Like you, I will cook in my DVC room, especially breakfast (I agree that sitdown breakfasts at WDW are too expensive!) and often lunch. I do like to partake of the WDW table service restaurants for dinner.

Yeah, we are going to take a cruise some day. During the villains thing Friday evening we hung by the pool then went to the top of BLT and watched the MK party fireworks. So staying at BW was a good thing for walking to DHS. We like BW, and the clown spitting out tourists into the pool does not bother me at all.
We do dine out some and especially like O'hana, Boma, Sanaa, Kiminos, and many others, but do dine in the DVC kitchen more often than not.

When I saw @Disneyfalcon she was gracious enough to tell me where you kids where. I walked the length of the ship with gifts, but never ran into anyone. So sorry I missed you all

So I left earlier at Splash Mountain...always a favorite. From there we wandered over to Pirates. It too was walk on...no line or wait time. No pics of Pirates for some reason. The Jungle Cruise was not running, being refurbished. So we went over to another of our favorites, SFRT.

While not a thrill ride, I think we appreciate this more and more, and the movie is one of our favorites. Maybe there should be a remake of the movie and a refreshing of the attraction:

Refreshed by the Dole Whip appetizer, we decide the main lunch crowd is probably gone and head back over to BOG. Right again. The line was just outside the building, they were handing out water and umbrellas for shade to guests waiting and this would be our only line for the entire week, and we were inside and ordering within 10 minutes.

We sat near these guys:

She had quiche and salad (yuck) and I had the roast beef sandwich and something called Pomme Frites, but they must have been out of those and brought me french fries instead.

"I asked you to stop taking pictures of food," she sweetly said.
"Yes dear, you're right, let's go shopping," he should have said.
